McLean at $21 on Centrebet is the value for Melbourne.

There is no way a team that won 4 games should have a $1.65 favorite. 6 points will probably win at the D's.

My teams are as follows..

ADL: Thompson / Vince (close)
BRIS: Black
CAR: Judd (Murphy to be close and good value)
COL: Swan
ESS: Watson
FREO: Pavlich
GEE: Ablett (Selwood to be close)
HAW: Mitchell
MEL: McLean / Bruce
NMEL: Harvey
PORT: Pearce
RICH: Deledio
STK: Hayes (I also love Hayes to lead at the half/and to win)
SYD: Goodes
WCE: Lecras (Selwood close)
DOGS: Boyd

Best bet I have going is.. Watson/Hayes/Lecras/Deledio/Harvey/Boyd at $2501 to 1. Right now it sits at @ 150 to 1.

Would have to be nuts to take any Melbourne player in any sort of brownlow bet. It's pretty dubious but i think he's had quite a few games where he'll get 1 or 2 votes and that'll be enough to lead the Demons.

For a start you can get $2.00 for him elsewhere, Davey didnt play that well in their wins, 5-6 votes will win it and it could be any of 10 players

Jones best game (in a win 28 touches) came in a game where McLean got 26 touches and 2 goals, other than that Jones better games were in drubbings. IMO McLean or Bruce are the ones that might upset Davey.

Jones was best for Melbourne in 2 narrow losses to WCE and Bullies, might scrape some there

Im not saying he will win it but 100/1 for a guy that does get the ball and played 20 games is worth a small investment

Fair call. To be honest its probably because I like McLean's chances so much that I overstate him a little too much.

McLean had 36 touches 1 goal and 6 tackles in the loss to the Dogs and 29 1 goal 8 tackles in a minor loss to the Crows along with 26 touches 2 goals, 25 touches 1 goal and 28 touches in in 3 wins.

its not always about stats tho... altho they do help indicate i guess.

But if someone does a few things that take the umpires notice, and like dutchy says, if they have blonde hair or tats or there is a lot of hype about them in teh mdeia they usually get closer attention.

If you think 6 votes might win at Melbourne, how about Liam Jurrah....he's a flashy player the umpires might have noticed. Close to best in at least 3 games.

Good call Brodlach- he and Sylvia are definitely eye catching. Sylvia played a belter against the Hawks, I reckon he may get the 3 even though they lost.

What prices are these 2 boys for most votes @ the dees?

Yeah I know, McLean has a good history of polling votes and plays the inside game that usually gets noticed (Hayes, Judd, Ablett, Thompson, Black types). He was the equal winner of the Melbourne votes last year on 5, and has scored 9 twice which is a decent indication he can pick up votes!

Dutchy is right, Jones is good value, I am just saying I reckon McLean is the pick of the bunch from Melbourne this year.

Sylvia is around $10 I believe, don't think he will get more than 4 votes maximum, 3 should be locked in for the 37 touch 4 goal game, even if the D's lost that game.
