but on the other hand if Chambo comes up next week and Hayes is still injured, he would have been a good Tall defender for the Doggies

What a game! Great win by the Blues! Glenelg very unlucky to loose just didn't take there opportunities 2 weeks in a row. Tackling pressure by both sides was awesome. Sheedy, Coad, Crane and Jack Trengove were outstanding. Great to have Benny Nelson back was tough in and under all day.

Jack Trengove is a SUPERSTAR!

Well done to Sturt. Managed to collect from both games this weekend.

So does this mean the Bulldogs will be s***ing themselves this week?

Just a side note. Has there been a team of footballers that duck their heads as much as the Bays?

p.s. On a brighter note for the Tiger supporters, I can see some improvement for the Bays in their next game. :D

This game was another triumph for those of us who think "inside 50s" is a totally meaningless stat.

Perhaps the kicking coach should spend more time with a few, the 'ducking' coach a bit less.
Umps under different instructions today - 29/19 frees was fair given some poor tackles in the first half from $turt, but they got ready for the barrage of head ducks later in the game.

It might just happen naturally to some, as kicking like Grima's would have anyone dropping their head!

here here, it was sickening to watch, nearly every time they were tackled they dropped there heads.

Credit to the umpires from about half time onwards they didn't fool for it and rewarded the tacklers. The main culprits being ruiwoldt, willoughby, kane and backwell, everytime

And both games were decided by less than a kick.
Spelly, has a minor premier ever gone out like this so narrowly?

Obviously the Bays didn't read my post on the Footy Journal thread last week - "Glenelg, CD and the most important word in football". It could be written again for this game without much change at all.

From an earlier thread...

The Apostle AK wrote:This game has a lot riding on it...if the Bays drop this one it will show that they are mentally weaker than Sturt (and bigger chokers!) because they obviously haven't got over the shock of losing to Centrals the previous week (when they were runaway favourites for that match)...that picture of Mark Mickan in the coaches box after the final siren was not a very good picture...

If Sturt lose (being massive favourites all year...atleast according to more than a few Sturt supporters)...I can't wait till we play them next year.

Oh, hang on...I mean't next week...

Came on here to post the same thing.
The head ducking and falling to ground in the tackle by Glenelg was bordering on ridiculous.

THought Nelson did a great job on mouse after half time.
Coad, Sheedy and Trengove terrific.

If Chambers is fit enough to play I'd slot him in the side for Johncock who was woeful today.

Matty Jaensch has really grown into a good league footballer this year and I look forward to him continuing his good finals series next week.

Or work out he doesn't play for Port Power.

How very nice to win a couple of close finals.

Bays fought it out right to the end, so kudos for those efforts.
Unbelievable what we have endured this finals' series with 3 games being decided by 10 points or less. That we have won two of them would indicate that we are holding our nerve a little bit better this year.
Having a read on Double Blue.org there were Sturt supporters screaming at their computers all over the world when news that the final siren had blown reached them. Fantastic stuff, very glad to have gotten through to this year's Grand Final.
Now for a crack at the big one...

Now aren't you the dude who accused us of celebrating a premiership in July after one of our supporters had the temerity to criticise a Gowan?
