Whew ... what can you say!

The disappointment is immense, especially when the loses are 2 and 5 points points respectively.

I've already noticed some gloating from others about the results which I will not dignifiy with a response other than anonymous cheap shots are easy to make so go ahead and have your fun if that makes you feel good.

Fisrt of all, well done to Sturt today, thoroughly deserved the win. They withstood the first quarter onslaught and played the better football for the rest of the match.

The Bays lacked composure when it mattered but they did not give up and fought to the end. That lack of polish cost them both finals.

There are no excuses ... the Bays had control of their destiny and weren't good enough, but not by much.

I am proud of my club and their efforts, but obviously gutted by the result.

I and the Glenelg Football Club hold our heads high. This year is not to be.

Congratulations to Central and Sturt for deserving their places in the 2009 GF. It will be a cracking game and best of luck to both teams.

Very, Very proud of our boys today. Awkward start but held firm. Second and third qtrs brilliant.
Feel for the bay supporters. Sincerely, bad luck. I'm very happy to get more than a monkey off the back, but now is not the time to gloat.

Both teams and supporters were fantastic today. Well done.

I had us somewhere between 5th and third. Very pleased to have exceeded expectations. BUT...... It aint over yet. Our boys have learned much over the last three sundays. Need to put it into practice next week.

If those in power want to diminish the value of our comp after the last 5 finals games then I give up.

Well done Sturt and all teams in the finals (+ Westies) Long may we all live.

On a very serious note, please tell me why Grima can't kick. Did he suffer some sort of injury to his leg/s, pelvis/groin etc., at some stage years ago? Does he receive coaching? He must be very concerned.

From my Expert opinion of sitting in the stands it is nothing to do with his leg action. It all goes wrong the moment he drops the ball. If you can't drop the ball correctly you do the math........

-glenelg chokers
-glenelg wasted season
-glenelg goal kicking may have cost them a premiership
-sturt will give centrals a run for their money without doubt
-sturt Trengrove=gun will play in much bigger games than next weeks grand final
-sturt have dilemma now over Chambers and Thurston (who will be sore tomorrow morning)
-sturt how will they pull up after three tough games in a row now.
-glenelg chokers

Total and utter rubbish. Glenelg lost two tight games against quality opposition. To say that Glenelg are chokers is just as stupid as saying the GF is a foregone conclusion and Centrals will win. Give me a break...

correctomundo. Hell in all my years of playing footy used my opposite foot (left) maybe twice and it is a dammed lot straighter than his natural foot because it at least made it to my foot from my hand 10 times better than he does. For a league standard footballer it is simply unacceptable to kick like that in a forward line. Get back to CHB and try to make a career out of than sonny

I posted last week that this was a huge danger game for us cause the talk was not about the prelim but having another crack at the Dogs.

We seemed unsure about playing our natural game rather prepared to play safe football and ease into next week.Mikan indentified last week our goal kicking was bad , well today it got worse and speaking of MICKAN untill today i thought the worst move i had seen by a Glenelg coach was taking W.Phillis of Ross Dillion in the 75 GF.Not any more cause deep into the last quarter when Sellar who was dominating and who i have since found out got BOG at the club he took him of .He was not moving far away from center and forcing Sturt wide soon as he went off Sturt got their winning goal. What a absolute joke not much different to his non matching up against J.Gowans last week .Sellar a AFL hardened footballer can play a full quarter of SANFL football not saying we would have won if he stays on but i wish i was able to find out.

I am 46 and you would think i would be used to this crap but no it still hurts very frustrating very annoying and does not seem to be getting any better.

70 74 75 77 81 82 87 88 89 90 92 08 09 as another Glenelg mate said last week look up UNDER ACHIEVING there is a picture of us smiling at the camera.

Whats the answer WHO FREAKING KNOWS

That is what We did with Heath Lawry, now playing MUCH better in defence.

The first thing I'd like to say is commiserations to the Tigers faithful. I don't consider them chokers. It was just really unfortunate that they went down in two close games at the wrong end of the season. The Tigers put in a fantastic performance against the Bulldogs and for a myriad of reasons, just couldn't keep the momentum going in the last to win the match. Today, I thought the Tigers threw absolutely everything at Sturt in that last team but just couldn't buy that most important last goal.

Its a real shame for them. A fantastic season, back-to-back minor premierships and unfortunately you have to be honest and say that today and this season is one of lost opportunities as they needed to go one step further than last year.

For the Blues, well we managed to stay in touch as the Tigers pumped us early on. Bad kicking is bad football and luckily for us we went in at quarter time 15 points down instead of something like double that. From the next two quarters, I thought the Blues were the better side and worked hard, absorbed pressure, got some great goals and game back to the Tigers what they've been giving to us all year. That final term though, Tigers were relentless, just couldn't get the magic winner.

Some shocking kicking from their forwards no doubt cost them big time, whereas for Sturt, just 29 inside 50s to 58, meant we obviously made the most of our chances and held on for a phenomenal victory.

For me Sturt goes into the Grand Final beaten and battered and bruised with numerous injuries and no doubt the Dogs will start very short favourites with the bookies (as they should). Can the Double Blues win it again against the giants of SANFL football, who knows, it'll be tough, but it'd be some fairytale to pull it off. For now though, a chance to sit back and enjoy a spectacular and character building win and then look forward to being in the big game against the big foe.

Well done Sturt... gutsy, gutsy win!
