Pura Cup: NSW v SA

First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

Postby blink » Wed Oct 18, 2006 4:50 pm

Things not looking so good now - Lehmann's sporting declaration could bring about SA's downfall:

NSW 2/176

Jaques 102*
Thornley 14*

Jaques has put his name up in extremely bright lights for selection for the Ashes. Langer/Hayden (or even any other batsmen) better watch their heels because Philthy is right on them!

This is rubbish. When Tait got the early wicket i thought we were laughing, he hasnt been able to get one since, Dizzy cant get one, and ******* Bailey is getting spanked.

This is against a pretty under strength side as well.

NSW 3/249

Jaques 147*
O'Brien 0*

Thornely gone for 40.

Adcock  the pick of the bowlers 2/32!!

Mal called it - Jaques is giving us a pasting. Lets hope if he is still there at stumps that Tait can castle him early tomorrow [-o<

4/277
champ 162 not out off 209 balls
only 122 to get
and thay cant decide between Watson/Hayden/Katich for the openers spot
in the world cup in 2007.

As for the Declaration.....Thornley and Macgill put on a 200 odd run
partnership not so long ago for the last wicket.

4/277 Stumped + stumps BAYMAN
If Adcock gets Jaques out early tomorrow we are in the box seat.

WA 3/608 [Rogers 279 and North 239 not out]
VI 297 + 5/429
VI lead by 118 with about a session left approximately
a draw likely.

Honours even but if Jaques is still in after seven or eight overs then a real monster is on the way. Go the Blues, it would be sweet to get the points in this one with the second XI on the park.

Looks good. Need to make sure we secure first innings points on a regular basis this season and throw in a few outrights and who knows. This one not over by a long way yet though.

Couldn't have planned it better - 1st innings points, NSW = Jaques.

Now the boys need to pile on the runs and look for a late afternoon declaration.

No, NSW = McGrath, Lee, Clark, Clarke, Katich and Lee. Good news for SA is that some of these blokes might be available for when NSW play some other teams later on in the year.
