You'll have to wait and see when you play us. ;)

the whole 1 day thing was very last minute. Our exec did the right thing by giving it a go. Oh well, next year and with some planning it should be alot more solid, and maybe have a few more teams interested.

Ecky, will there be a one-day shield???

The boys were installing a new pitch on our main oval, and I hear it will be right to go on Saturday.
I haven't seen it yet, so no idea how it will play, I guess we will all find out on the weekend!

Either that, or new sides and sides that have done this in the past should have to put down a non refundable deposit at the AGM.

Ive also heard on the grapevine that Northern Wolves may be going down to 1 team in the 1 day div. Can anybody support this rumor? Also, will Central Mission be fielding 2 sides again? I see they struggled lastyear for numbers against my brothers team

A little bit harsh mate. In an ideal world, ALL players will rock up during pre-season training and commit to playing for the entire year. The reality for most Clubs (turf clubs included) is that even in the last week leading up to the first match, the Execs are still running around making phone calls to blokes who haven't bothered to turn up to training and haven't the common courtesy to at least phone and make their intentions known.

Every single year I've been involved with PVLCC, this has been the case. You expect no player departures based on feedback at Presentation Night and through word of mouth during the off-season, but after madly ringing around for weeks like some overseas-based Tel-Co, you find out otherwise. So perhaps don't be so harsh to judge. ;)

It's a tough gig trying to organise grown men! Sounds like you don't have those drama's at NEK, which trust me, it's a good thing. 8)

I think most Clubs are playing their cards close to their chest at this point in time, but after tomorrow, I'm sure all the ins and outs will come to light. ;)

I can confirm that PV have lost 1 key player from last season, but have gained another player who is more than capable to step in and fill the void, but the player departed will be back next year for a crack at 4-in-a-row.. ;) Other than that, business as usual from my Club. 8)

Fitzies have about a dozen new players this year, some returning from turf and some new ones. I know we have 8 players out this week who are A grade standard. No superstars but adds real depth to our club. We filled 3 teams this week and still have 10 or so to comeback in so its looking good. Its a real credit to the guys who have done all the organising, except BB of course.

NEK have about 4 new players with no-one leaving the club

as for the new blokes they will be B graders although we are playing one in the A grade for a game or 2 early on to see if he can cut it

we have a few weddings in the club in Oct so our Div 1 side may be somewhat depleted early on but we believe it will still be strong enough to be competitive at the least

your very well informed MM, couple of incorrect guesses however, Belczacki & Laird both still at Mission, both playing A grade tomorrow, Lilywhite & Ward not playing this yr and yes Woolcock left back to enfield.
