It's all good and well to say that the Para District cricket comp is in good stead but you only have to go on last years div 1 to realise it isn't as strong as all you people suggest!!! With Sandy Creek and Two Wells going there are very good players missing. These 2 side have been standouts the past 4 years and it was always going to hurt the standard of the Para District. Blokes of the calibre of Stamovich,Mcarthy,Thomas,Ellis,Serle, ratcliff,Fuller,Robers,Donohue are all gone it was always going to make the Div 1 standard questionable. In all due respect Div 1 in the past 5 years has been going down hill in a big way. I can't see it changing in the near future sadly.

Agreed, but we need new "stamatovich's, ratcliffe's, and serle's" these guys were kids once to and proved their worth over a few years. I see the next few years in PDCA being the years we start talking about the "Brown's, Groover's and so on"

The most important thing is that we keep maintaining the same amount of teams, the CUSA Cup is dying in the ar$e so comparisons are less important.
There is a new younger breed that are coming through the ranks that are loyal to their clubs and will provide us with a decent talent pool. Watch these names over the next few seasons.
Bennets, Stones, Demeo, Galbraith (Salisbury North)
W.Sewell, Haythorpe and a few more (Salisbury West)
Taylor x2, Knapp, Tuckwell, Hudson, Gates, Kerr (Smithfield)
Baker, McIvor, Wilson (Craigmore)
F.McConnell, Prime, Andrews, Smith, Williamson (Eastern Park)
Waldhuter (Angle Vale)
J.Osbourne, Carter (ATCO)
Furnell (Lodge)

I'm sure there are many more that I have missed, all of these aren't far away from being quality A graders for their clubs if they aren't playing there already, the future is brighter than it seems.

Good point. To relate this to footy, the last 5 or so years the PDCA has being like Geelong. All the dominant players in the competition, and everything going well. At the moment, you could assume the PDCA is like Melbourne, quality list of young players, surrounded by a few seasoned veterans. Well maybe Melbourne isn't the best team to compare, but you get my point. In the next 2-4 years, we will be seeing the young guys come through and start to dominate the comp, and the PDCA will once again be a strong comp like it has being for the previous 5 or so years. Things always happen in cycles. I still believe the future is looking promising, as the list mentioned by LM before.

I did note Galbraith of SN hit 176 in SN's C grade....fair effort, surprised he was playing so low. Definitely be moving up with efforts like that!!!! (that assuming it's the same Galbraith that played A's last year).

It is the same Galbraith, 16 y.o, I'm sure there was a reason behind him playing C's this game, he opened the batting in the A's last season.

I've seen him play footy from about under 10's up, always carried some beef and used to be an absolute gun at footy, his cricketing prowess has stuck around though, he's only 16.

For all that dont know -

Brahma Lodge will be hosting an internal 20 20 comp on Friday nights at brahma lodge. We have obtained sponsorship in which will supply extra portable light towers so lighting is not an issue.

There will be 3 teams which are planned to play each other twice and games are scheduled to be played every 3 weeks.

I'll advise exact dates later and encourage anyone to come out for a look at drink.

If all goes well then we may look at inviting other teams to compete in matches later in the season, or more so for next season.
