Trimmers coaching Uni is awesome....played State with Trimmers a couple times and he is not only a great player, but a great bloke...will serve Uni well!! Will be interesting in the first ROCS v Uni game, coming up against his old side!!

Modbury will always be a stand out Div 2 side....unlucky not to stay up (but I guess they were gifted 2 pts against TTG and that didnt even save them). With a good list and the players there for the right reason, they will be the team to beat!!

PHOS & Uni seem to be treading water a bit....PHOS were top 2-3 for a fair while in Div 2 4-5 years ago....need to find their consistency.

Athelstone under new coach Daniel Thomas, will be interesting....unfortunately it is not all about opening cheque books to win a flag or move up a Div....Players need to be there for the right reason....look at the Lester Ross, Anthony Pierre and Glen Molloy debarcle....big names, big dollars, big demotion to Div 3....

Eastern Park....did well last year, but are they really ready to step up to Div 1....probably not!!

As has been stated...will be a good comp, but my tip is Modbury to take out another flag!!! ;)

Wouldn't be too sure about Modbury winning another flag, both Mitchell boys back to Broadview, big key position losses there, few others throwing their names around also. Not all is well down at the Hawks.

They keep on the move those lads, must be something of interest at Broadview. You wouldn't want to paint their name on a locker, you'd be changing it on a seasonal basis.

Only played at the two clubs, been on the cards for a while, i think our culture and the lack there of at Modbury has sealed the deal, i would like to think they are here to stay.

Ahhh Shirtfront the facts are

Daz Mitchel went against his word to a number of his so called mates at the Hawks and has left for money.... Last season he was overweight and couldnt geta kick in a street fight! He has left Modbury for the last time and his clearance will be signed sealed and delivered whenever Broadies want it
Ace is a loss but players have been approached and his position is all but filled.
All other players have signed from last season with 6 new faces gracing us with there presence come 16 November when we start training.
We will get a full year out of Reece Hoffmeyer, Todd Stanton and Matt Neve had an injury pluaged year last year, Sam Scudds is the fittest he has ever been already, our squad will be stronger than it was last time we were in div 2 and our young lads have the experience of matching it with the best players in SAAFL.

So from someone who does know what they are talking about id say all is well at the Hawks

Who are throwing there names around Shirtfront? The lads are a pretty close bunch at the Hawks and the majority socialise throughout the summer and have been running weeknights for the last month!!! would be interesting if it was one of them as they would loose a fair few mates if they did!

This is not to say that we are cocky or anything we have a goal and we are working to achieve it!

Now to continue with some "facts"

ROCS seem to be going along quietly. I have heard that a few hahndorf boys may be heading out there for some reasonable coin.... not excessive but better than average pay! They would be 2 very handy inclusions and definatly work well with Hurley!

He's always welcome back. He's a good man and was a pleasure to play with... we always knew he was way out of his league playing Div 6 footy but would you say no to him and Adam Loader sitting in your forward line !! ;)

Cos they think they are bigger than the team and the club.... Well Daz's playing weight was last year! You can put up with their old man now

FS, as for D mitchell leaving for money. If he has indicated that he is getting a 'packet' then its a bit silly, cos he has signed for peanuts, if you are trying to make him sound like a poor bloke for leaving for money, then the joke is on you.

Never said he was on a packet Shirtfront

Im sure it is for more than what Modbury pays everyone else. Hey if he can get the money and wants to leave thats fine but if Broadies think he is a massive signing then.... you will be visiting Div 2 again next year..... then the joke will be on you my friend

I've seen him play when fit and he will be more than handy, whether he can make it into our A grade 21 is another thing, but having back up like that will be very handy. Don't worry about us heading back to Div 2, just worry about getting back up to take us on in 2 years time.

Loads kicked 16 one day against Greenies in Div 5 for us... Could play...

That is exactly our goal mate and we are keen to get cracking on achieving that! We had our taste and we dissapointed with a few games we played which cost us in the end. Our depth was a bit light on and that hurt us also.... We know what to expect and will be working as you are to build depth!

ROCS seem to be going along quietly. I have heard that a few hahndorf boys may be heading out there for some reasonable coin.... not excessive but better than average pay! They would be 2 very handy inclusions and definatly work well with Hurley!

ROCs were a very good Div 1 side last year and like Modbury, extremely unlucky to go down. They had a fantastic forward line, good midfield but leaked too many goals. They will do VERY well next year. Wouldn't be surprised if Modbury and ROC's end up in the GF .....
