Nope- from Carltonfc.com.au:

"Carlton has revealed the 2010 Membership slogan and once again it promises to be a talking point and create controversy.

“CAN YOU SMELL WHAT THE BLUES ARE COOKING”

The line itself is sure to have people talking and the artwork will only add to the discussions, particularly among supporters of other teams.

The artwork is an illustration depicting Judd, Murphy, Gibbs and Kreuzer around a premiership cup that is being used as a ‘cooking pot’. A magpie and a bomber can be seen inside the ‘cooking pot’ that is surrounded by flames. The backdrop of the illustration is the MCG.

CEO Greg Swann said the slogan and artwork were designed to make people take notice.

“The 2009 slogan, “They Know We’re Coming” was a little controversial and it not only got people talking it was a very successful campaign. It generated a great deal of media attention and was a real talking point in what was a record-breaking membership year for the Club.

“For 2010 we wanted another slogan that would make people take notice, we wanted something different that hadn’t been done before,” Swann said.

For the first time in the Club’s history membership was over 43,000 in 2009. The controversial slogan did set the Blues up for criticism during the season, particularly after losses. Opposition clubs also used it in a sarcastic manner on many occasions. However as Swann said it was a membership slogan for Carlton supporters, not a Club or team theme for the year.

“In the end the team really lived up to the membership slogan last year as we continued our improvement and played our first final in eight years. With an exciting young list and the experience of a final we believe people not only know we are coming but are now well aware of what we are preparing.

“Importantly it is a membership slogan, it is for Carlton supporters and is designed to grab attention. Like last year when we said we were coming we didn’t say we were there, this new slogan says we are preparing the main meal; it is up to us as to how long the preparation will be,” Swann said.

Continuing the cooking theme, of which there has been so many successful television shows, Swann said it was fair to compare 2009 as the entrée; “we made the finals” and 2010 as the start of the process of “preparing the main meal”.

“Adding the magpie and bomber in the cup adds a little extra spice to the slogan. Let’s hope it gets people talking and more importantly reminds Carlton supporters to join as members in 2010,” Swann added."

Ohh boy our marketing department suck, but then again last years slogan was one the most
talked about in the AFL, and we broke our membership record.

I myself couldn't really give a rats arse what our slogan is as long as our membership base increases.

Cant wait til Mr Impartial aka REB comes in here and has his usual Blues slang

Actually REB loves fat chicks, fat chicks need cooking, perhaps he may see the light 8)

If Carlton wanna come up with stuff that will get people talking, then they're going the right way. However, to pay Marketing agencies a motza is just chucking good money after bad. Leave that to plebs like us to come up with a campaign, for next to nix!

Dumb concept, not that it will make one iota of difference to me. I wasn't going to be a member this year, and still won't.

Those idiots probably think it is a Jacuzzi. That poster is so gay even Julian Cleary wouldn't hang it on his wall. And how dodgy is the caricature of Juddy? The Bluebaggers are always good for a laugh at this time of year.

Dutchy I think that football clubs are more structured into separate departments than they were in the old days. In most clubs the marketing dept would report to the CEO or the Football manager and the coach would be lucky if he is even asked what he thinks about things like this. Do you think NC signed off on the new Crows logo?

Coaches coach, marketing managers market,etc

Not saying this doesn't have Ratten's stamp because I don't know. But you can't assume he did.

At the end of the day Carlton's strategy has worked - this new marketing campaign is all over the footy websites and elsewhere and that's what they wanted. Any of us know any of the other club's membership marketing slogans for 2010?
In between signatures .....
