You cant seriously think they wouldnt run it past the coach before launching it? especially as he was asked about last years slogan all year in media interviews?

He's the coach, what's it got to do with what he needs to be focussed on (ie, coaching)?

You might be right and he had the final approval or been involved with putting it together. But there's a good chance his involvement was nothing more than being told about it at a footy operations meeting.

If I was a CEO of an AFL club I wouldn't leave marketing decisions with my head coach unless I knew he had some skills in the area. Do you think Ratten is qualified to have the final say?

No but Id certainly get his input, if he wasnt happy with it Im sure the club wouldnt proceed as it puts a lot of implied pressure on the playing group

Dead ringer I reckon. The players must be trying not to laugh when he addresses them. Bet it makes him MAD.

Why? I don't reckon they'd give a "rats" ( ha ha ) about it.

They have their own job to do and would understand they need to sell their club however they can. Their job is on field.

If Ratten has the power of veto then he has the final say and I would be surprised if he does. I reckon the CEO does.

Look, you could be right. Who knows? I am just challenging your assumption.

It would have been developed to spark controversy, discussion and to put the focus on the Carlton Football Club. Despite what people think of it, it has already been a success as a discussion point as this thread indicates already. Success in terms of luring members to join remains to be seen, although I reckon the Blues will break their membership record in 2010 as they will once again be ultra competitive, play in the finals, and be a flag contender in a few years

Dutchy, they ran it past Swan and he gave it the OK.

Remind me what was the memorable slogan North Melbourne had last year ? Or will have this year ?

It's already achieved what was set out. Hell even 5aa crapped on about it for a while. Free publicity ! Bring it on.

The marketing committee has been hanging around Dennis Committi again. hehe I can see Juddy getting the Brahma Bull tatooed on his arm. Now question is what does the WWE think about the slogan because that is copyrighted to the WWE.
