agreed

Innovation & change is the key - those that dont perish

Why PDCA would not set it up is strange as it would give a second premiership available in each grade

It might even get more people back playing cricket

You guys can agree to it, I agree to it, the majority of the clubs DID NOT agree to it at the AGM, this is all that matters in the executive committee's eyes and fair enough. There has been hardly any support for T20 in the PDCA, it is not the PDCA's fault, it is what the clubs want.
On the same token, clubs should be sending people aho have a genuine interest in the affairs of the PDCA, not just whoever has that night free, maybe put on a dinner or something to attract the right people.

perhaps organise a President's forum to discuss the future directions of the comp - I know when the SAAFL wanted the move to Thebby thats what we did - get the power brokers in the club involved

I know for a fact that they executive committee is already looking at possible changes for next season, B grade teams to play against whoever their A's are playing is one of the items on the agenda.
Give them a break though, for the past 15 to 20 seasons one person was the lifeline of the PDCA, everything was stored in his head as he was so familiar with the goings on. A few people got thrusted into various positions and they are now into their 2nd season and are doing a fantastic job IMO. Sure there's been some errors and not everyone agrees with their decisions, we've copped a couple of bad ones but we just have to play with the cards that we're dealt with.

Here here LM, I still remember talking to Basil after Franks death and he was turning white at the amount of work and change they had to do in a month. ....and there wasn't too many that put their hands up to help at this years AGM either.

By the way, if it goes ahead on saturday how many players wont turn up, I bet there will be plenty of teams playing with 9 or 10 players

It was alway pre-season and clubs used the excuse that thier captains weren't nominated at that stage.

we tried an a grade captains meeting in the BLCA and had 2 or 3 meetings a year and it was very beneficial in setting up playing conditions and formats. was good to have some real cricket brains have an input rather than who ever is available to turn up for a delegates meeting whos prime objective at the meeting is to finish the meeting as quick as they can

I wont be even contemplating looking today, check out the BOM at 4:15pm, that is what the news reports go by for their 6pm bulletins, it will fluctuate all day just to keep us on edge.
