if every liverpool player were fit and available, can sum1 tell me why this formation would not work.

Torres Babel

Aurelio Aquilani Gerrard Benayoun

Agger Carragher Skrtel Johnson

Reina

Lucas
Kuyt
Reira
Ngog
Krygiakos
and so on

could this team work?

It could work, but you touched on one of the issues when you said "if" in regards to fitness.

Im not convinced on Babel as a striker (or anywhere else for that matter), fully fit I'd be looking at something like:

Torres Kuyt
Gerrard
Riera Mascherano Benayoun
Insua (or Aurelio) Carragher Skrtel (or Agger) Johnson
Reina

Obviously I haven't seen Aquilani yet, so he could well fit in there quite easily.

If we can find some form of replacement for Alonso in terms of a defensive holding mid, then Gerrard in the forward half is lethal and a must have IMHO

Not rumour bully. He said it in an interview. Was asked about the possibilty of torres being sold if someone came in with a £100m offer. It was about wether hicks would take the money to reduce the debt

Rafa said it ain't gonna happen because he would resign if torres was sold

Oddly that might be music to hicks ears as it would generate £100m and save the compensation payment to benitez

Liverpool V Man City pre-match with Robbie Slater and co, the comparison of Alonso and Lucas was mentioned.
Host Adam Peacock then mentioned that last week Jason Dunstall accused Lucas of not being Brazilian.
Funniest thing I've heard all day.

Lucas should be shot for his effort at the finish there. Unmarked in the box. Free header and TOTALY fluffed it. What a terrible player.

Un-marked header, scores are 2-2 with 20 seconds left and who should head it to the corner flag ???????

Lucas " please Leiva as soon as possible".

The only thing Brazilian about this lad might be the shavings above his old fella but that's where it ends.

Liverpool travel to Hungary midweek with a depleted squad as they are dropping like flies.
2 subs needed within 15 minutes and a placenta induced Benayoun having to run out 70 minutes more than he needed.
Impressed with NGOG, his work rate was terrific I thought, and with 6 goals from 16 appearances, probably 12 as a sub, he seems to have a bright future depending on being able to play along side Torres.

Well not surprising really, we can't complain about having our chances to qualify because we had them, just weren't as good as our opponents on capitalising .. Shit happens.

Will be interesting to see how the loss of these funds (and possibly any from next years CL) will affect the debt laden owners and their decision making.
