Are we having an extra bet or two for the competition on Melbourne Cup or Oaks Day seeing as we normally only do Saturdays?

Yeah maybe Punk, but everyones taken the comp in the right spirit & not spat it if too far behind, Dutchy & the others had genuine excuses for missing & apologised, so I'll let it go through, any more than 3 misses would be outski though.

Beauty of it was that if it was 1 stride longer El Segundo would have won it. Precise timing is everything and a bit of luck!

That'll be my bet for the cup- last year I backed Geelong Cup winner "On A Jeune" in the Melb Cup & it ran a very good second, so for a novice like me, the Geelong Cup form is good form.

Dunno, I think the following were fair horses that managed to win the Cox Plate:
Kingston Town
Bone Crusher
Better Loosen Up
Super Impose
Octagonal
Saintly
Might and Power
Sunline
Northerley
Makybe Diva

Been the graveyard of many a good horse AG! have to bet with caution at the valley! Those are all exceptional horses wedgie. The best horse often wins the cox plate, but the other races there are dangerous with a capital D!

I dont like the track, horses that take a while to wind up dont have the time to balance in the short straight...or if some horses cant accelerate while turning they are stuffed there also....with BF i simply lay any favourites that havent won or been placed there (Layed RTW not to run a place at $1.81)

I dont know much about racing however I thought I saw the Derby winner Saturday in Efficient - ran the same distance as the Cox Plate and ran a faster time than FOO - so essentially would have won the Cox plate if it had run!!!! what also impressed me was how strong it was at the end so the extra 460m shouldnt be a problem....Best price is $2.60, will be having a big crack at it

I thought it was Caulfield that was a pig of a track- especially with the rail out 6 metres!

All races at Flemington on Saturday are Group listed and eligible for the comp, with 5 Group 1's. Grand Final day for us punters.

4 Rounds to go, best of luck all.
