From the Ravens website :

"Young Crow Andy Otten suffered a serious knee injury at training this morning.

Adelaide’s head doctor Andrew Potter said Otten would visit a specialist this afternoon.

Otten, 20, played every game last season - his second year with the Crows - after making his AFL debut in 2008. He finished runner-up in the Rising Star award this year and won Adelaide’s Emerging Talent award.

There will be no further comment from the Club until we have more information."

Not the most credible source but on BigFooty they are saying ACL. Terrible news if true for Otten who is a real talent.

Especially if the rumours of another crows backman returning in very poor shape are true...

Is that an ex-Port Magpie who played some games in the SANFL last year?

I see young Phil Davis to replace him as the third tall who runs and rebounds for the crows. A pretty good replacement IMO.

Bad news for Andy and the club but we get to see why Phil Davis was picked so high now. Hopefully he can have a similar year to Otten last year

I suppose the same could be said for Jack Ziebell and Jessie Smith last year??
At least the Crows stick by their injured players like Hentschell and Burton and Martin..
Can't say the same for the Kangas... ;) ;)

Very disappointed in our house..
Ottens is the kids favourite player (behind Birdman.. why Birdman.... i'm still not sure!!)
so some sad faces around the place tonight..

I Just hope he recovers well and is back for 2011..
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined

Terrible news for the guy, he seems a genuine talent.

Phil Davis? Given the profs reluctance to give him a shot last year dont expect him to get a crack just yet.

here we go again

why did I knew you would find a link between this and Neil Craig

Despite the fact the crows had one of the lower injury rates last season out of all teams you still peddle this rubbish?

Jack Ziebell was a broken leg so you can't blame the coach

Well, most would say that but Dutchy has in the past blamed impact injuries on NC too

From the bits and pieces I've seen of Davis, he would be a perfect replacement for Otten's role of 2009.

Really bad luck for Otten. He is already an important player for the Crows and will only get better.

Will Young apparently had himself a good off-season thus far, wouldn't rule him out of earning an opportunity to see if he can make the grade.

Phil Davis will be a star. If he was a ginger, you would swear it was Ben Hart playing.
