A few short short lines in the Courier last Wednesday made my day. So Owen has a challenger at last. Go Tubby Fechner! Could be the best thing to happen in Hills Football for a very long time. Let's hope every club who has had cause to complain over the years votes loudly and clearly on December 7th.

There is some interesting debate about Crumber's post on the Hills Central site for anyone interested. I agree fully with his comments due to first-hand experience at my old club. We had untold problems in this regard and I know the SANFL have been hoping for a change for many years.

If they signed james and dempsey that is laughable u have a 6'3" mouse and a 6'2" steroid muncher both who dont like to get the football. Also heard that Todd Bajic a friend of deake smith is at the club next year.

Hargreaves & Ladhams?

Or is it White and Coulter ???

Not sure Brett White will be playing in the country, his pregnant wife may have a say in the matter, it's called "travel sickness" along with "morning sickness", not nice!

How is Brett White going these days Aceman?
I'm mates with his brothers and haven't heard anything about him in a while.
When did he leave North?

I would expect it all to be pretty quiet at the Moment, Any clubs started Light Training yet? I know several clubs don't start to the new year, any on the track yet though?

I would almost say the top 3 will be the same as last year, with Kersbrook, TV, Echunga (But then the next 2 spots will be interesting) with Kangy looking to have picked up a few, Gums in a similar situation, Nairne having Murphy back is a hugh plus, Meadows will be there again (Had a pretty bad run with injuries, and a lot of talented Juniors).

2010 looks to be another good year of quality football in the hills, looking forward to it, Does anyone have a copy of the First Couple of Rounds Yet?

Is Luke Percy still at Nairne? Could Slattery from TV be going back to Port Adelaide?

sad day today as Steven 'Maxie' Walker will be buried after his tragic death last week... played for the Roosters for many years and also Callington I believe for one... most opposition players would remember him as the guy sitting in the forward pocket, that even though he carried a few extra Kg's and was about 4'11... was almost impossible to tackle and could kick goals from any angle, never missed a target with his delivery either... i personally remember him diving in head first to help me out when i had about 4 Kersbrook brutes hanging off of me!!
a great guy, and a tragic loss, particularly for his two young sons.
RIP Steven Walker.

Nothing at all to report Kickittome. Plenty of hyperbole around about guns and prospects for next year as usual, but I think most people are over Callington. The days of Holton, Nykamp, Ridgy and Mully have gone and it will never get that good again. Nice while it lasted. Memories anyone?

Who is favourite for the top job at HFL??

Is Tubby running just to ensure That Lobe dont get dropped to Country Div?? or what is his agenda?? Anyone know...

If this is the case, country clubs will probably vote for the Big O despite all his shortcomings/stuffups.

I dunno BF. This stuff isn't publicized much, so clubs don't seem to get any info regarding the 'platforms' or agendas of candidates. Even if they did, we all know the info might not be accurate anyway. I am aware of 5 country div clubs who want a change. But it would be sad to see a vote where the basis was to seek change for the sake of change. But the term of office was altered from one year to two years at Owen's initation and the vote caught many unawares. So it is understandable that clubs don't want another two years of him; maybe he cooked his own goose with that one. Ideal scenario would be to change the constitution again for a one year term for the Pres. Then Tubby could get a go over a shorter period. But I have to say that I know the SANFL have had enough of the situation as it is and the HFL are losing ground and respect for every week it continues. It is hard to imagine anything worse than the way it is now. And I personally don't believe a possible relegation of Lobey has anything to do with it all. The dilly-dallying in the Party Room would defer that until 2020 anyway!

There was a great game played between Kersbrook and Calllington in 98 when the Eagles were a rare favourite with all those above names playing, only for an emotionally charged Brooker unit to come out on top, going on to win 12 more in a row before losing at the Big Dance.
