Reason? Because Gayle did stuff all. I didn't see him chat to one single bowler, change fields, do anything at all. So sure they were fast, because Gayle stood there doing nothing. Ponting and his men are slow but they're always trying to take WICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gayle was too busy being "coooooooooooool". :)

Just on the Bollinger "catch". I didn't see it, but Kerry O'Keeffe made an interesting point on the radio. He claims the game has gone nuts with players referring plum LBWs, half volley catches, etc. He puts it down to this new referral rule which encourages players to make ridiculous challenges to umpiring decisions. So do I.

We have a 3rd umpire, that's enough. Any really bad decisions can be indicated to the the umpires in the middle by the 3rd umpire without all this referral rubbish.

Well well well; I thought England captains only did this leading to mass hysteria on SaFooty.I looked forward to the public hanging of Dougy Bollinger on here but hardly a ripple it seems..........Strange about that

The Strauss catch decision wasn't even referred.

The windies fast men looked pretty flat yesterday. Watson and Katich just pushed the attack all over the place. Obviously losing there number one strike bowler has hurt them. Roach is a good talent but seems to be lacking direction. Not Ramoaul is up to it. Benn definitly is something to work with in the future.

This morningit will be good to see how Katich and Watson go. Had a great start to the innings yesterday on what can only be described as a road.

Ponting does not like facing ROACH
Next ball PONTING pulls and is OUT for 36

AU 3/233
HUSS 11*

CLARKE a likely top scorer in this innings to the crease

Starting to wonder if the end is closer for Ponting than we think. His average has been dropping fast in the last couple of years, down from 60 to 55...and if he's not making a lot of runs on a dead as anything track against the Windies you wonder when he will. His reflexes look like they're starting to blunt.

I'd hate to see him finish his career with an average of 52 or something when for so long it has looked like he could finish well above the other greats.

Hussey's first boundary comes off his 115th delivery. And we wonder why test cricket is dying

even more so how can a part time bowler like Chris Gayle be allowed to bowl 9 overs for just 15 runs
