Dropped elliott and fulton! The side looks a lot more balanced IMO. NZ will be stronger with the bat this game (even tho vettori is at 6 and not 8) because he is still a better number 6 then Elliott.

The young fella on debut looks likes he has a bit of guts about him and should go alrite if he gets a good break!

QUESTION

Farhat has become the first player to carry his bat since who, back in the late 90s??

Pakistan need some quick wickets here, game slipping away from them.

Can't give them a lead of 50+.

New Zealands' Mr. Fixit has done it again, Daniel Vettori is on 100*, he and McCullum put on 176 for the 6th wicket to rescue the innings from 5/145 to now be 6/346.

Sorry, i did mean Pakistan. And correct Anwar did it against the Indians in a winning test match for the Paki's in 98/99!

Last batsman to do it from any country, well i think that would be Simon Katich? That correct BROD??

Vettori really is a sensational cricketer. He has pretty much put the Kiwi's in a comanding position, now watch him come out and bowl 35 overs.

And those 2 wickets at lunch were taken by Martin Guptill.

He bowled the first over of the day and got a wicket caught and bowled. Couple of overs later, he then got the next wicket, also caught and bowled!

Both openers out to a mastermind captaincy decision! I believe this is Guptills first two test wickets, and maybe even his first test bowl!!!!

PAK bowled out in there second dig for 493.

Guptill claiming 3 fa in the end.

NZ require 208 off 43 overs.

Suprisingly, they still opened with McIntosh, along with BJ Watling.

0/38 after 11 overs!

In next is, Guptill, Taylor and then either Flynn, Vettori or McCullum.

Make that 0/44 now after a BJ boundary and then a single.

At the end of the 12th over NZ are 0/46 still needing 162. BJ Watling looking really good.

And being a NZ thread, thought i would mention that J. How and P. Ingram put on 428 for the first wicket chasing 445 for victory.

Ingram 245* and How out for 176. They won by 9 wickets Central against Wellington!!

Amazing effort!
