Seems like a better batting strip than the one at the MCG earlier this week

Another start and doesn't go on with it, What a DUD.

How can Australia possibly expect to return to No. 1 in the Test rankings if they have an opening batsman that CANT make a ton occassionally?

So if one bloke makes a century every now and then but averages 29, while another bloke struggles to get to three figures but averages 55, you're going to laud the former and omit the latter? Come off it mate.

Watto has been in sensational touch. Players will at various stages have monkeys on the back, but when you're hitting them as well as he is at present it's not exactly a mammoth concern. Still averaging over 50 which is bloody exceptional, and he'll break the hoodoo eventually.

Locky: Brilliant news.

People keep going on about "batting" decks, but what they are failing to take into consideration is the standard of bowling world wide isn't all that high right now. I don't think the pitches are favouring batsmen any more than they used to, I just think there aren't enough quality bowlers to get anything out of the deck. I am pretty sure in my mind that had the attack been Roberts, Marshall, Holding & Garner, the score would not read 1/255.

Sorry ... 2 down :)

Has anyone else noticed how it just isn't "cool" any more to push a ball wide of a fielder and take a single to reach 100? It seems everyone has to try and hit a boundary so they celebrate in style.

Yep, Katich joined the list of chokers, after going almost his entire innnings taking miniMAL risks, on 99, plays a terrible 1/2 slog sweep off middle and off  and pays the price. One would think that after scoring so many tons in their career that they would just continue to bat norMALly when in the high nineties.
Clarkes shot was also terrible so early in his innings but thankfully those 2 have thrown their wickets away to put a bit of interest back into the match.
