Australia have more than enough NOW. Hope Aust lose their last 6 wickets for 20 to make the game interesting again.

6/117 with Haddin gone to benn.

I wonder if Punter will bat in this innings?

Game will be all over tomorrow.

Dont have to wonder any more he is in, MAL has gone very quiet about batsmans paradise wickets, but surely the question has to be asked, how up until lunch today was this a batsmans paradise and now it is a batsmans minefield

Very much like in Durban when Australia was 5/348 then lost the last 4 wickets for four runs. Then South Africa were 3/6. 7/10 combined.

In Tests he had only batted between 3 and 7.
One Dayers he opened twice, batted 3 to 6 and once at no.8.

Still 345 runs ahead with a chance to add a few tomorrow. That will be plenty so long as the Aussie bowlers fall into a good line and length and make the Windies work for their runs instead of the garbage they bowled in the 1st Innings.

The only thing that worries Gayle is good line and length bowling, why would you even think about bowling anything else?

More importantly, after watching him bat tonight, I wonder if he'll be out there on Boxing Day.

How bad was the shot? Punter is a compulsive puller* but surely he should have gone out to the middle with the "duck and cover" mindset?

I too couldn't help but hook / pull* as a player but my limited ability with the bat made sure that as my bowling took me up through the grades I put the hook / pull shot away against the faster bowlers. Its a no-brainer.

He also should have come out to bat when North got out so he had Haddin at the other end, two batsmen to work together through that very tough period.

Well done to Hauritz BTW, he has limited shot selection and he knows it, he batted very well.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.
