It was a wasted challenge IMO, it was a selfish, desperate one, no respect for the experienced umpire. Rudy makes some shockers in his time but he tends to give the batsmen the benefit of the doubt with LB's, if he gives you, there's a fair chance you're out.

Haha are you serious?

The first innings challenge was fair enough and to be honest i don't think he should have been given out, and i have no problem with him challenging this one, there would have been numerous questions in his mind, Where did it hit me?, Was it too high? did i get a feather. Yes he got it wrong but to call it desperate, selfish and disrespectful is very very harsh IMO.

Each to their own, I like Hussey but when you get wrapped on the pads in the fashion it's time to walk, a team only gets two per innings and I wouldn't go wasting them on LB's where there's no bat involved.

Asif to Watto on 91 not out
outside off let go
outside off swinging away let go
very wide swishes thru to the keeper, the pressure is starting to mount a poor laxidasical shot
very wide ball, lets it go, interesting bowling, good tactics, keep watto in suspense
wide ball slashes to cover no run

Asif the bowler after 3 maidens in suck session
sa footy posters some nervous for the chosen ones ton
some hoping he gets out
MJ + WATTO batting slow [easier to hit runs at 5/452 instead of 6/166]

Watto on 184 runs for the test, no bowler has dismissed him as yet

wide and called wide, the crowd claps, its draggin on
wide outside off, let go, 20 balls in a row to watto for no runs, great tactics
off peg, he off drives to the fielder
outside off stump let go, rivetting test match cricket [WATTO hit his last ton v PA in a o/d game hitting a six]
wide outside off, let go AGAIN, crowd handclaps
off peg he pushes to the bowler no run
outside off, let go
25 balls for no runs, IS HE CHOKING ?????

I think it's time Mitchell Johnson says enough is enough and starts throwing the willow a bit, this negative bowling has cut the runs down to nothing

Watson getting frustrated far too easily here.

I hope he gets his hundred but he just doesn't need to bite at these tactics.

Rudi has lost all respect by embarrassing himself over the past couple of years. He was a good umpire but has become the worst in the game and just doesn't realise it's time to give it away. Just making a fool of himself. I'd be referring almost any decision he makes as there's a very good chance he is wrong.

It's more of the criteria behind overturning an LBW is what I'm getting at, unless there's bat in it, 90% of them will go back to the umpire's decision. In Hussey's instance I thought he was clutching at straws to save himself.
