Fitting that Watto takes the final catch I guess.

Well done Hauritz, first michelle in Test cricket.

Pakis lost 7/81 today. Bring on the changes for the 2nd Test. Hopefully Younus Khan will be here, and Danish Kaneria will be playing. Surely Pakistan can come up with a better player than Rauf. I expect the Pakis to be a lot more competitive in Sydney. The also have some very talented youngsters who just need to forget they are playing 20/20 for awhile.

I wish the Nine team would cease their comments that the umpire is being tough on Hauritz with no balls. The umpire looks to see where the foot lands, he hasn't got time to wait for the foot to swivel around. The moment the foot lands, he then lifts the eyes to see where the ball goes. You want to eliminate the no ball? Bowl 6 inches back from the line .. problem solved.

How is the ump supposed to give an LB if he is watching his foot swivel around all over the place?

That is precisely my point. It's Hauritz's problem, not the umpire's, and it's Hauritz who must correct it.

The 3nd most pleasing thing about this test was Hauritz getting a 5 wicket haul
The quiet achiever made a half ton and a five for

The akMAL brothers have loads and loads of ability when batting but look seemingly in 20/20 mode
They need to refocus themselves at the crease
Be more patient

Pakistan have some players with some serious ability. However they make some dumb decisions too.
I reckon Rauf is ok, but only ok and I reckon hes probably going to miss out for the next test. If its sydney I would think they would be very keen to have Kaneria in the side, then the decision becomes more about do they play Ajmal or another seamer in say Gul.

Also I would like to see (as mentioned by others) Khan in the team.

Thats the unp's job and they have been watching for no balls and making LBW decisions for a while now. Im sure they will cope with that.

I was surprised gul was left out of the team in the first place, a competent strike bowler and handy with the bat....

Well they were saying that he was out of form, or ill or not bowling as strongly as he is able to, or something like that. Still even if hes only as good as Rauf, at least he can field!

How did he go in the recent NZ series?

From my understanding, Gul has not played in the boxing day test due to injury, nothing to do with form! He had a reasonable series in NZ. I wouldnt say he is handy with the bat tho. Rather shocking IMO.

3 changes for the next test. Iqbal, Ajmal and Rauf out. If fit and in AUS: Gul, Kaneria and Khan.

IMO Afridi bowls better then Ajmal Im suprised he is not in the test squad..

Well done Watto. Loving the way he is batting at the moment. Showing the makers name and cutting it when it's wide. Just has to work on the LB problem early on and many more tons will be on the way.

Rauf is not OK. He is not Test standard. I'd be amazed if he gets selected in the next test. And boy do they need Younis Khan. A very brittle batting lineup.

Agreed, and I will be very surprised if Rauf lines up in the 2nd Test.

Thanks Bayman. Was not aware of this. I thought i heard he would make himself available after the next World Cup for test cricket. Is this correct?

He can produce that unplayable ball
As a batter you can never get in the groove facing the champ
Of all the bowlers in the world he is the one I would not like to face
Id like to face Watto and Haurie though

You'd rather face MJ instead of Tait ?
I beleive you described him (Tait) perfectly in your first 4 lines when describing MJ.

Afridi is 29 and has been playing 1st class cricket for 17 years, so I think he needs a break.
