Well seeing as Godden is a good coach, then he will deal with it depending on the situation. I know you'd love to see us waste money (no doubt you think and know so already), but since Godden is rated so highly, you would expect him to do what is right.

I'm sure it is a prophecy from Nostradamus G, that "a god (Godden?) will come from the sea (Glenelg?), and lead "special people" (Eagle supporters) to the promised land".

Has anyone got a picture of Don Dunstan holding back the 'tidal wave" at the Bay in 1976? :D

What I was trying to say is that he is highly regarded as a coach. Not at League level as of yet, but he should have an idea through his job as a Reserves coach.

Well I'm guessing given how quiet it has been on the recruiting front of late that our list is finalised for the upcoming season. I'm incredibly disappointed with our recruiting after again failing to lure a quality midfielder to the club or even a highly promising junior midfielder.

Every eagles fan would agree that this has been a key weakness over the past 2 seasons but for whatever reason we have ignored this need.

So it will be interesting this season who Godden sees as the next generation midfielder. We know Treeby, Powell McKenzie will do their part. But I am unsure as to who else will stand up.

Goldsworthy and Polec showed most promise last year but I thought Goldsworthy is a bit slow for a rover and will not be that high possession winner we need. Cheep is no good. Hicks/Fairclough/Fitzgerald are rubbish and should not be given further chances.

I think the possible player who could be bring an unknown factor if they step up is Rowntree. I saw him play some excellent games in the reserves but he just needs to apply the same intensity when he gets his chance at league.

Mr Fuller
I think Ferret will tell you how good young Rowntree is ;)
Goldsworthy is a small forward who was forced on to the ball by the ex coach .How we hated Forwards trying to play midfielders.thankfully that regime has ended.
Fairclough my mail is he will be playing at henley in 2010
Cheep will have a better year in 2010.
Almond will have a better year my mail is he will be played in one spot and not as a gap filler like under the old regime.
Could James stewart play midfield he looks fitter than ever .

Yes I like you think one midfielder short .I also think from 08 to 09 season we had to many older players that number has dwindled already.
But we will only know come round 2 .
Plus I think this year the players will have to prove themselves to get a spot in the league team .that's something that hasn't happened in years.

Cheers

How about backing your coach in to develop a few players? Only the Eagles could have a thread like this.......... If I was one of your supporters I'd be happy with what I have!
