Did anyone happen to hear Brendan Julians comment last night? It went as follows:
"They've got the goey....I meant point looking straight into the sun"
A bit of a slip of the tongue.

Seriously, Mitch Marsh can bowl? 4/6 and most impressively, he got up to 137 kph!

Mitch Marsh is definitly one for the future!
I would suggest the Selectorts could start looking at him for some ODI's and let him ease his way into it. The last thing you want is for him to burst onto the scene, then get found out and struggle from them on.........

Also when Ferguson is fit again and Mitch Marsh starts to come on I can see both these guys fitting into the Aust Test side. Ferguson would be the long term fix for Hussey's spot and Mitch Marsh would be that number 6 we will be looking for in the future.

In 3-4 years time i think we will become a far stronger test bowling side, with your 4 frontline bowlers plus the addition of watson and marsh (counting he makes his way into test cricket) as your part timers, things are looking strong...

All thereabouts, but I wouldn't kick out any of the above guys to slot them in.

I'm not sold either. The future is looking bright, no doubt most of them will perform time and time again and get over-looked til they're 29. Chuck Warner in the mix aswell.

20/20 right now
I would only pick 3 current Test cricketers
20/20 is a game suited to certain types

Here is the best team

WATSON
WARNER
HADDIN
WHITE
BIRT
S SMITH
CHRISTIAN
JOHNSON
HEAL
RIMMINGTON
TAIT

Some others who are in my squad
M MARSH has not had a long dig in 20/20 but could easily be my wildcard
HASTINGS
D HUSSEY
RONCHI
HOPES
NANNES
LAUGHLIN

The nine or ten test players who missed out
KAT not suited, better openers around
HUGHES struggles after first 6 overs
PONTING retired and smart thinking
CLARKE needs to eat more weet bix cant hit
HUSSEY ok in 50 over cricket put this is not his game pushing 1s and 2s
NORTH needs to get in waste too many balls early
HAURITZ could nearly make it, but better to suited to longer games, not a slogger
SIDDLE possibility but not a slogger
BOLLINGER possibilty but cant bat

If the Redbacks host the final i can see it been played at Adelaide Oval. Now with the limit at the Oval at 17,500 do reckon they probly could put a screen say at Elder Park where people and fans can support the state together or would they move it Aami stadium.

Just something to think about

It would be too late to move it to AAMI now, there would be some high scores if they did play there with the slope.

Dont understand your logic there MAL. Yes a tailender (such as Johnson) would be very handy coming in with a couple overs to go, however you pick the number 9,10,11 for their bowling. If they cant bat so be it. Using that analogy, and then picking tait confuses me really!
Hauritz would be an automatic selection as the spinner in that side.

I personally would find room for Hauritz (heal is carp. see ya later to him), Shaun Marsh (selectors love him, will be in it IMO, his 100 last game was amazing) and Michael Hussey because i think they will be near certanties. Altho in that side, i cant see where Marsh would fit into the side.

Therefore my changes from your side to mine.
Heal, Christian out.
Horrie and Hussey in.

Quite happy for you to not like the game, but give those who wish to discuss it a chance without your baseball/teeball posts would you?

i agree, the public is voting on this form of the game with their attendance, as they want to be entertained. i went to a day at the shield cricket (which mal & i love as we love all forms of the game) before christmas & i counted more players & officials in the bradman stand than the general public on that day.......you guys that don't like it must remember it is 'just entertainment' & it brings other people to the game of CRICKET & further more this T20 caper just might work in the good old usa...the atmosphere last night & last sunday was electric
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway
