On a brighter note, my son saw his first Spurs goal - Michael Dawson. Then proceeded to see why Spurs are so damn frustrating! He'll learn to love them though!!!

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp charged with £40,000 tax evasion

Harry Redknapp insists he remains fully focused on steering Tottenham into the Champions League after being accused yesterday of a £40,000 tax evasion.

Redknapp slammed the charges, which are the result of a 26-month police and tax inquiry into alleged corruption in football, as 'farcical' and is adamant he has done nothing wrong.

'This is not a football-related matter so I have no intention of letting it distract me at all from what I am doing and intend to do at the club,' he said.
'This all dates back to 2002, so it has been going on far too long. It is farcical. I have issued a statement. I know I have done nothing wrong, I've been saying it for a long time, but the matter is in the hands of solicitors so I have nothing more to say about this.'
R edknapp voluntarily attended Bishopsgate police station in London to be charged by police and will appear at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on February 11.
The charges concern two payments totalling $295,000 (about £181,000) from former Portsmouth owner Milan Mandaric to Redknapp via a bank account in Monaco, evading the tax and national insurance contributions due between April 1, 2002 and November 28, 2007

Good thing everton did citeh in, but this isn't good enough.

Agreed RM. At least the single point has propelled us back into fourth spot but it would have been better to be two points clear of Man City.

The Toffees are back! Look out! Awesome game to watch against Citeh and Fellaini is an absolute superstar! That bloke could not put a foot wrong in that game!

We got a fairly (lets say 'lighter') run of games in the next coming weeks with Birmingham (FA Cup), Sunderland and Wigan then the real test is the month of February. We got Liverpool, Chelsea, Man utd and Tottenham in the League and Sporting Lisbon twice in the Europa, Hopefully we got a few more injured players back for those fixtures!

Would be really interested to see if Landon Donovan will be pursued full time by the Toffees, he has the quality and the mindset to play in the Premier League, if he doesn't i can see him being at one of the cashed up teams next season!

Tottenham - forever destined for disappointment.

The bottom line is we're just not good enough. Liverpool have been struggling, in terrible form, without their only 2 world class players and generally ripe for the picking.

But Liverpool knuckled down, pressured every player on the ball, chased everything down, flew in with tackles and defended set pieces like their lives depended on it. Spurs.........obviously thought they were playing a Sunday league side. No pressure on Liverpools midfield. No width going forward (Bale got in some good positions at times). Very poor final 3rd.

And WTF was Harry doing with his substitutions?

1-0 down, 60 mins played and we sub Corluka for Hutton. WTF!!!!! Why would you make a tactical switch RB for RB, when you're 1-0 down and needing a goal.

Then he takes off Krajcar, who's been our best creative midfielder this season and brings on flappy arms Keane, who's in the worst form of his career.

In a final twist to the substitution madness, he takes off Ledley King (who admitedly can't play a full 90 any more) and brings on Bassong.

How about leaving our creative players on the pitch and bringing off Palacios (who was woeful IMO) and bringing on Keane or Pavlyuchenko? Even that lump of lard David Bentley may have had a reasonable impact.

So pissed off right now.

Getting beaten by them without gerrard or torres would be dissapointing yes, but they played well today and IMO deserved the win, i think even the choice of what goal was wanted at the start helped as LFC attacked the KOP for the first half.

Thats a fair point, whichever team fills that last CL spot you can bet there are shedloads of people around the world right this minute tipping them to miss it
