Not an expert on cricket by any stretch so just wondering what those who are think about Shaun Tait and where he is at right now.

I went to the game against Tassie and missed his 2 wickets at the start of the Tassie innings trying to get a drink, then saw him bowl pretty well until Geeves carted him for the 12 in a couple of balls which blew his figures to 3/22 or there abouts instead of 3/10. Tonight he had a good start then goes for 24 in an over with warner seeing it like a beach ball....he seems in control at some points and then seems to lose it (as do a couple of his mates)....fair call or am I off with the pixies???
Trust the process.

Bowlers are on a hiding to nothing in this form of the game. when Geeves and Warner hit those sixes, both games were well and truly over and the batsmen had nothing to lose and were just swinging wildly and connected. That happens in this form of the game. Taity is a match winner and a very valuable asset for the Redbacks.

You lot wouldn't be Crows supporters as well by any chance? Turned on them pretty darn quick - regardless of a poor performance in one game, surely they have earned some level of support in this comp?

Agreed- 1 stinker out of 5 games- and it meant diddly squat in the scheme of the comp.

Victoria had a stinker against us the other week, and yet people are talking them back up now.

SA will bounce (red)back.

Quite simply STUPID wasn't it.

That is exactly what is wrong with this game. It will breed a whole generation of stupid cricketers.

Your not wrong. Get sick of the way 'supporters' turn on this team every single time things go a bit pear shaped. In this form of the game this is always a chance of happening, better to get the loss out the way than in the final.

It's a bit harsh turning on a team after one loss, especially when they have top spot in the bag. There is always room for complacency when you are in that position. It sort of reminds me of 2007 when Geelong lost to the Power in Round 21 at home. A few weeks later, we beat them by a record margin in the game that mattered :D Redbacks will not let that happen again. They have a huge chance at success after a dismal period of cricket for them, so I cannot see them making the same mistake again. I have been a bit of a knocker in my time of the Redbacks, but I am loving watching the way they have been playing in the 20/20 comp and I am pretty confident they will go all the way.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Might be pretty tough for SA in the final, in my opinion T20 is all about momentum and the backs head into the final coming of two really bad batting collapses while you would think the winner of the Queensland/Victoria game will be going into the final with 2 good batting performances behind them. As well as the fact i think that QLD and VIC probably have the best T20 bowling lineups in the land.

Anyways its been a great ride with the backs in this comp and no matter what happens in the final i have thouroughly enjoyed watching them perform very well and am excited about watching the backs in the champions league.

Who's turning on the team?
Just some honest observations made i think.
Most people can accept defeat BUT in this case their effort and lack of thought with their batting was simply DEPLORABLE
Not sure there is ALWAYS room for complacency, sure there is a danger of complaceny but i'm pretty sure i read in the paper leading up to the match, Manou was quoted as saying that there would be NO complacency and experimentation as they were keen to keep the winning momentum going into the final.
Most of us can accept losing, it's just the manner in which it happens sometimes is unacceptable as it was in this case.

What were you expecting .. cricket?

Grumble grumble.

Just like turning up to a party uninvited and complaining about the music. For someone who doesn't like T20 you certainly find your way into the discussions to put your two pence in.

But he is invited, he is a member of this site. No, what you are doing is threatening to kick people out of the party just because they don't like the music. How does someone having a different opinion about something lessen the enjoyment of someone who does? I thought that was kind of the point of discussion forums.

Well, smac isn't threatening to ban people but it is very much a 'that sort of comment doesn't belong here' ethos coming from a moderator so I'd say it's an accurate analogy.

A lot of people agree with smac's comments though, you, AH and rod rooster have all made your points about not liking this version of CRICKET. We don't really need to hear it again and I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate someone continually bagging Test cricket in the various threads...

And if you did you should be able to. Others will choose to respond or not. Isn't this exactly what these forums are for.

Who would've thought a first class cricket team could lose 16 for 85?

Does Cosgrove forgetting to bring his own clothing suggest something about his mental preparations for matches?

Warner's batting was sensational - to club Tait like that is something crazy.

If I were moderating I would have used a PM, posting is for my own thoughts.

As mentioned earlier, your (and AH and RR) dislike of T20 is noted by all who post here and I don't think it adds any value to the conversation.

Yes I understand that but every single match that is played has the same people complaining about it, they have said their piece, we understand they dislike 20/20 but now they can surely move on.
