How many chances is too many chances??

What hope do these kids have? :(

I just hope the mum has learnt a lesson and is on the right path now.

this is a joke. i thought the point of a suspended sentence was that if you were to re-offend, the "suspended sentence" would be enforced.

I think you're all a bit harsh, after all she did take away the keys to his car once he was over the limit.

Hope they've stopped her in time before she turns her kid into one of these monsters...

This is what the mother did to make them turn out that way...

Don't know what's worse...what they did or the fact that nobody stopped it getting that far

That's terrible. I hope that the child protection services are monitoring the situation because the law doesn't seem to give a sh1t. Where is this woman's sense??

When I was underage, I wasn't ever given alcohol by my mum - my dad would give me the odd beer if the Crows were going well, but I would have been at least 12 or 13 by then. When I was little my dad told me that if I drank his wine I'd get poisoned and die. Of course I then accidentally mistook his glass for my mum's Coke and had a big mouthful, then ran hysterically shrieking around the house until my mum told me that I would live.

I've tried to avoid this with my own child by just telling him that alcohol is a grown-ups' drink. He accepts that. :)

Yeh, the news coverage was heartbreaking.
At first you want to hate the two of them but when you hear the way they were raised then they can't possibly be held totally resposible for what they did. Just hope they are still young enough to be helped. I think the authorites are still considering charges against the mother.

It makes me sick how some people treat their children. I find it very difficult to believe in the premise that humans are essentially 'good' people when I read things like this. I pity those boys deeply because they never had a chance.

And yet we sympathise with the boys, what kind of parents will they make? Does the cycle start again and people feel pity for their kids? Perhaps she had a similar shitty upbringing.
