Guys: Valentine's Day

Postby Sploosh » Sun Feb 07, 2010 9:47 am

Valentine's Day: coming up next Sunday.

Anyone got an idea for something a little special/different than the normal stuff? Now, I realise that we don't want to raise the bar to ridiculous heights, nor spend huge amounts of dosh, but perhaps there's something we could do other than a restaurant/choccies/flowers?

All ideas welcomed, as my brain isn't coming up with anything new at this stage.

Dinner that you cook yourself, followed by a drive to Glenelg after nightfall, with a ride on the Ferris Wheel, sharing a glass of champagne as the stars come out. Followed by a walk up Jetty Road to get Andersens Ice Cream, which you both then have as you walk along the beach, barefoot in the sand. From there, a drive to a nice cafe to have a coffee/hot chocolate, before a slow drive home, listening to Nigel Kennedy or the like, before home time :)
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

Mrs Pseudo has managed to completely forget Valentine's Day for the last 2 years. Yet I know that if I forgot, I'd be sleeping on the sofa.

for something different and given i work sunday nights, going to the botanical garden movies, and its hard for me to buy flowers as my gf makes bunches etc, so i always feel if i buy them she looks at them in terms of style and costings and not appreciate them for what they are - well thats my excuse anyway!

Suggestion.... O:)

Get into the spirit for starters !! :D

Cook a meal for her.
Include a yummy dessert or valentine dessert like cheesecake with icing hearts.

Set up the table as such - (and have it set up before she walks in so it's a surprise):

Normal dinner setting.
Rose petals scattered over table.
Candle/s (red)
Love heart champagne glasses ($2 at cheap as chips!)
A single red rose on her dinner plate setting.
and/or a small teddy that simply says "I love you"
Romantic music in the background
Champagne

It doesn't have to be expensive - but it does have to be thoughtful.
Do you love her - then who cares if it's commericalism, blah, blah, blah - just do it :D
Besides think of the brownie points !!
