Grade 1 Stats this season

122 SEWELL, S Salisbury West 7 Matches 3ins hs 18 Total runs 40 Avg 13.33

He is a useful player in 2 dayers and Im sure he is just answering a call up so not his fault but I bet no one else even got asked. U could text each delegate from Div 1 and 2 to enquire if their top players were available and i bet u would have around 10 names. I know Matt Hargreaves and Shane Brown from our club are keen and in good form but were not asked and Im sure other clubs are the same

if its the captain who has to find a person he will look after his own  that responsibilty should be taken from the captain..
i dropped in for a look and huey was on cloud nine[ not from the pipes] cause of the prize wicket of the wizard..
did you get told it was the wrongun oz??

honestly why would you rock up if you didnt get a phone call to say you were playing??
to me that sounds like someone was just expected to be picked??

Surely they would have a squad of 20 or so to chose from, in case there is a player who has to pull out. This is also not the first time it has happened, where a player has come from the captains own team to fill in. To me, it is also not the captains fault, neither the player that is pulling on the whites. The PDCA/CUSA cup committee should be held responsible for this. How many years has this cup been going ahead? Surely by now they have a squad ready to go, phone numbers of each teams captain in their association (to find out who is available for the games) so that they can get the best possible team on the park? What ever happened to a training night so that they could atleast get players together?

As for Groover rocking up to play and been told he wasn't picked, I would have thought you would be told if you were playing. You know what they say about assumptions......

I was told on friday night i was selected to play, unfortunately when i got there the side had been filled, and as i was not there when the team was listed i wasnt selected. Phone call to make sure i was on my way would have been nice as it would have sorted out what happened, but not to worry no hard feelings on my end.

Yeah, Bluey said you popped in, someone needed to get dropped, so I put up my hand, the B's had a must win game. I've injured myself now and will probably miss the rest of the season.

When you havent lost a game and are at least two games clear and have top spot stiched up why bother going for an outright - might as well have a hit - allows the bowlers to dip into the esky a bit earlier than usual ;)
