Outside chance: Sam Fairclough's cool head and clean skills have been very impressive all year and would not go unnoticed by the AFL scouts. A little small, nonetheless his guts in the packs against the bigger players has that "x factor" that should give him a chance at a rookie list, at worst.

I think he's still too young to be picked in the draft this year.

I know most of you might disagree but my whisper and a very strong whisper is Matty Campbell as Port Rookie...... But then again Port said they'd pick up Jason Roe which never happened.......

I believe that Port had every intention of selecting Jason Roe, except for one minor hitch, the Brisbane Lions got to him first

NORWOOD: Bryce Campbell has proven his ability in the SANFL for a few seasons now, and has been under the radar for a few clubs now. Good work in the packs and can win the hard ball, possibly needs to kick a few more goals to really finish the work, but at 22, would also be a good mature age pick. Brad De Vries was invited to the Crows rookie camp in 2005, and battled injury that year, but took another step in 2006. Excellent contested mark, and can pinch hit in ruck if necessary. Jesse Aish still has some work on disposal, but plays very similar to his father with that loping, laconic style. Needs a solid summer or more in the gym, but a long term prospect.
Outside chances: Jack Bampton may be a year off at this stage, but one to watch for the future. Gavin Hughes' pace is electrifying at best, and those dashes through midfield should get noticed. Adam Cockshell is a genuine project player that may go surprisingly early - don't be shocked if he goes in the top 40. Needs to work on kicking, but his marking is excellent and represents a real key forward prospect.

I tend to agree with every word, an accurate assessment of Norwood's young players. We can only hope these players get drafted by Adelaide or Port so they can stay at the club. I can't see any of them being regular AFL players in 2007.

Suspect Gibbs may possibly end up at Essendon, as Carlton may have flagged an intention to take East Perth ruckman, Matthew Leuenberger with their decision to draft ex-Port and St Kilda ruckman, Cain Ackland, so as not to throw the rookie in the deep end, but only speculating.

Yep only speculating, confirmed to me again to me by the brother of Carlton staffer that, Gibbs is #1

Good news for the Bays in that Sellar slipped down to 14 and was picked up by Adelaide.

Paul Stewart from the Eagles picked up by Port at no 23, good news for Eagles fans.

Bad news for North fans, Shane Edwards to Richmond at pick no 26.

That's good news re Gill. He will be competing for the same spot Perrie plays so we should have 1 of those 2 each week at Prospect and hopefully Livingstone stays undrafted and will be a perfect fit at CHB for the Chooks!

I was hoping this would occur as James had a relatively poor 2nd half of the season so he slipped from being a certain top 10 at the start of the year to falling just out of it. 194 cm aerobic animal who can run and jump, the prototyoe player for the next 5 years a la Goodes. The question remains has he got the smarts and skills to play AFL footy though, big question mark after SANFL league players and to a lesser extent 2s players were sorting him out in the 2nd half of the season.
