2nd 3 Test - Adelaide Oval

First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

Postby am Bays » Tue Nov 28, 2006 11:29 am

Unchanged squad for the 2nd test, Johnson and Tait back in to the 13 from the 11 that played at Brisbane, No McGill. Obviously the selectoers read this site and have taken heed of Mal's insightful advice.....

An unchanged line up me thinks for Adelaide, Clarke to bowl some left arm orthodox spin on the 4th and 5th days if required.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Obvious squad.
For the longevity of the team Symonds should have played before Martyn
as we NEED that 5th bowler.

If the poms bat first and STRAUSS does not 'waltz' into that dummy hook shot
and they grind out a session or 2, the 4 bowlers may be exposed.
I expect a revitalised Stevie Harmison to be the big key for the poms.

And stop knocking on my boy Jimmy Hopes the man who got Hussey twice in the p/cup
game including a duck in one of the digs.
HE WILL GO TO THE WEST INDIES for the world cup !

Another of MALS longshot proterges is Luke Ronchi from WA what a talent.
The cleanest hitter of a cricket ball you would ever want to see.

If we need a fifth bowler (and I don't think we do) then you would be better-off dropping Martyn or Clarke and playing a specialist bowler (Tait or Johnson for me). Symonds doesn't warant selection on either basis...

Is Hopes your love-child Mal?

MAXIE gotta pick out longshot predictions and either look like a genuis or an idiot.
I like to predict instead of reflect, so when Jimmy wins us a world cup in the WEST INDIES
I shall be afforded the consumate praise or criticism I get.

You would like a token jesture of putting him in the squad? He will not play until Sydney.Simple.Why name him in a "squad" when he is no chance of playing.
