It is always difficult getting Footballers to respect the needs of cricket. Footballers can train on oval, but cricket has right of way during cricket season and centre wicket is no go zone. Always quite funny watching our curator tee off on Footballers who run through centre square.

I know some clubs do their pre-season training at an alternative venue until after cricket is finished - very sensible approach

I think it also comes down to how much "pull" the footy club has over the ground in question. While i was out walking my Labradoodle on Tuesday evening I noted that Henley footballers were training at Henley high as opposed to Henley GM where West Torrens had roped the centre square off, so obviously mutual respect between the 2 during this time of the year. However there are other grounds where the football club gets what the football club wants sometimes at the demise of cricket pitches and you will see footballers running all over ready prepared decks that will be used in 48 hours time.

Not being from a Turf backround (ASCA) not sure how things are run in the ATCA. North Haven fields a Under 15's team in the ATCA and we have a young lad who is playing under a permit granted by the ATCA, who is 3 months older than the required date. He has been playing all year, and now he cant play finals due to the fact he is too old. Not sure this is sending the right message to our future cricketers. Could make or break some lads. I dont think this the right decision. He hasnt set the world on fire and to play all year, leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
My drinking club has a cricket problem!

Could be IO, whilst out for a kick & a catch last night i noted that our cricket square hadn't been cordened off and that we were quite free to train wherever we saw fit on the oval, centre wicket included, nothing was said either :? :?

Congrats to Flinders Park for gaining promotion to A1. Great effort! Lost first two games, but unbeaten since.

Could be very interesting final series with the top 4 sides being separated by about 5 points at the end of the minor round.

Semi Finals
Flinders Park v Reynella
Walkerville v Para Hills

I'm going Walkerville v Reynella in GF

Grange and PAOCCC won through to the T20 Grand Final yesterday. The same sides could well play off in the real GF as well. Could be a very big three days for those clubs.

Modbury to get over old iggies as they are the top side. Old Iggies only have 3 bats and they are gone.

Marion to get over Concordia. Concordia have no batsmen at all the lot of them are cross bat sloggers. That gets you nowhere in finals, evidence of this of their 2nd dig v Goodwood collapsed to be 9/120 odd. I know it was a 2nd innings but not the best preparation heading into a sudden death final.

I suspect Marion will do their fair share of "cross bat slogging" as well

played at Marion Sat in B2. not a bad bunch of blokes, pity about the scum who went thru our changerooms and stole my phone, peoples ciggies and sunnies. idiots left one of the other blokes phone and took my shitty prepaid 60 buck phone. lucky for the 1st time this year we locked our wallets and most players phone in my car. dick heads missed the envelope with 200 bucks in it.
