not sure you can say the top 12 teams are close ATCO got bowled out for 16 in one game and struggled all year along with Salisbury North - I think the top 1 stands out then a gap with the next 3 along with a gap to the next 8 - although hard to comment on Grade 2 sides when we dont see them but based on this year with A/Vale & S/North comming up they have struggled
I said "closer", of course there are going to be exceptions, yeah ATCO got rolled for bugger all, they also lost to Salisbury West by a run or two in the one-dayer.
It will take years to combat the difference between Westies and the rest of the clubs, I think it's healthy to have such a high benchmark for other clubs to have to reach for success.
Regardless of how Salisbury North went this season, we don't plan on going up to make the numbers. Angle Vale weren't disgraced, they lost a few players over the off-season and still produced some good efforts, they only lost by 32 runs in round one against you guys on your deck and they were quite depleted.
The batting standard of Grade 2 has been high this season, most clubs seem to lack potency with their 4th & 5th bowlers, you can combet this in two-dayers but not in the limited over games.
