Campaign Advertising - Labor lost it?

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

I see Isobel has again refused to come in to ABC radio.

R&B

Both leaders were an the national ABC show at 8am this morning.

Both were on 5AA this morning.

I don't know how many times each leader has personally appeared in the studio with Matt and Dave, but those affairs are usually a good half an hour in lenth and the day before an election I'd be surprised if either was willing to cancel another (campaign) diary date at such short notice.

However, it's fair to say that Matt and Dave are expert are carving up their guests and it seems you have been hoping that Izzy be "brought to account" by them, which apparently she is avoiding? Yet members of the current govt boycotted that show themselves for 18 months?

A lot of that is right, squawk, but Isobel hasn't been in the ABC 891 studio at all this campaign, according to Matt and Dave (I'm not a fan of theirs, BTW).

She's clearly avoiding the heat she knows they'll put on her (and with good reason after today's revelations).

Nice emoticon, Jimmy, but better placed on my Spin, spin and more spin thread, which I see hasn't been commented on by those who have been peddling the Rann spin line

Seeing that you can't post without mentioning spin, what's your take on your Shadow Treasurer admitting that the claim of saving $1 billion on the RAH is just spin?

Dont play man on man with redandblack southee, he's a master at it and has never been wrong in his life

Well, I'm off to hand out How to Vote cards for the morning

1. I think Labor will get back in
2. Rann will say that he's heard the message
3. They will be shown up for the bunch of liars that they are
4. Rann will not do a full term even though he has said he would (see 3. above)
5. Next election - swept from power

If playing the man means giving continuous personal insults, Jimmy, then I'm sorry to say that you're the only one who keeps playing the man.

That's why I'm happy not to post as much on here now.

"Evolution of a smear":

"South Australia goes to the polls today, along with Tasmania. A couple of weeks back I noted Andrew Bolt’s attempts to poison Mike Rann’s image by writing as if the allegation of an affair was an established fact. Did the smears stop after that? No – Bolt just switched to a less direct approach, and sharpened it over time."

I was on the cusp of Little Para and Wright and there would have been 7 out of every 10 voters saying that they were going to vote Liberal although the Labor guy, handing out pamphlets with me, did say that it was a traditional Liberal booth

The Labor guy also said he couldn't believe how many people were saying "not this time"

I think I'll be happy either way, mate, even if the Evil Empire wins ;)

One thing i can't understand is why voters follow the "how to vote" cards of political parties. Since being eligible to vote, i haven't followed them once.

Totally agree GWW, I'm the same.

Pigs might fly, but maybe the stunt today will accelerate the banning of how to vote cards in South Australia as is the case in Tasmania.
