Postby Ron-Burgandy » Wed Dec 21, 2005 7:59 pm

Heard that Stuey Graham will return to Sturt after a two year lay off due to injury and study. Very handy pick up for us!

Will be a very handy pick up Ron.
On a sadder note, apparently Brett Howman has finally given up on his chronic back complaint and retired. A shame but I suppose if it is that bad he wouldn't have had much choice.

and i was also told that Graham was back too which is great bloody news, will slot in perfectly on a HBF or BP and release Nelson into the middle for mroe time. :D:D

If that's the case Jimmy I'll have to pay that one as my source was only other supporters who wouldn't know much more than myself - which isn't a whole lot. :)

It was mentioned at the AGM that howie was training well & hopefully he would play this year. Unless something happened in the last 2 weeks, I recon he is an "in" this year.

Brett Howman was at the AGM and though he wasn't saying much, he was still training and hopeful of getting through ok. There certainly hasn't been any official "retirement" announced and we can only wait and see at this stage. Everyone at Sturt would love to see him come up ok, both for his own sake and the club's. But if it's not to be then obviously his first priority must be his long term future health.

I have a question:

Is this the most ex-afl players that have either returned or come in to the sanfl in one year?

stan, i dont think he was on any afl list, he was a player at the club from about 99 to 04 before pulling the pin preseason 05 after coming back from a knee injury.
