Disagreed, there's heaps of instances where the 2 teams that have won the most games (including instances where the 2nd team had a worse draw than the 3rd team) haven't played off in the GF.
Of course its not just the draw, there's quite often a lot of factors involved, ie choking, injuries, bad luck, etc.
If you'd said "the 2 most deserving teams will be in the GF" it would be a different story though and I'd tend to agree.

By "the best 2 teams over the year", I'm talking about from round 1 right up to the Preliminary Final. That's what it's about, making the Grand Final. The 2 best teams in the league make it happen. The pretenders fall aside.

yeah but if Team A has won 17 games from Rd 1 to the Prelim Final and Team B has won 12 games from Rd 1 to the Prelim surely Team A would be regarded as the "best team over the year"?
Different kettle of fish as I said if you're talking about the team who's most deserving or the team who's better at the business end of the year.

The 2 teams who male the Grand Final are the best 2 teams over the year. It's like a horse race. You can be leading into the straight but get run over short of the line, you ain't the best horse in the race.

We'll have to agree to disagree on your wording mate as I can't see how in the unlikely event that team b wins 10 more games and kicks 100 more goals than team c over the year its worse "over the year", but its a pedantic point and I think we both agree in principle that the 2 teams that deserve to play in the GF get there, no doubt about that.

PS If it was compared to a horse race I'd argue that the horse who wins 50 high quality races in a season is better than the horse who might fluke a place in the Melbourne Cup.

I dont know where the roosters played their 9 in 2006 but you did have 9 not 7. You may have moved a couple from Prospect like we did from Woodville?

Everyone who bought a home match ticket got into their clubs designated home games.

In 2007 Eagles fans with the home match ticket get 3 at Thebby and 7 at Woodville - in 2006 their ticket got 7 Woodville, 1 Adelaide and 1 Thebby

2007 Home match tickets at the Eagles are great value - $80 for 10 games and you get full membership - saving $55 on gate price plus membership
2007 Season tickets at the Eagles also great value $110 for 20 games with full membership - saving $115

People are complaining about the lack of autumn friday night football.

The reason is that there is nowhere to play it other than norwood. Clubs arnt going to play a match at norwood instead of their home ground like they do at adelaide from time 2 time.

It all comes down to a hangover and work. And as Psuedo saw by my appearance at the Sunday game at the Bay this year the dreaded hangover from Satdy night also ruins the Sunday!!

But living in Pt Lincoln and seeing our crowds double, I'm happy with it.

Things i hate about playing at Thebby.

Not our home ground and hence cant go to club before, during or after game for beer and feed.
No TAB for a punt
No grass for the kids
Facilities awful.

Things that are good

One of the best surfaces going.
Good view points
Parking easier.
Bigger crowds.

Woody Oval is home , 2-3 games at thebby a year ok with me.
If at first you don't succeed , then destroy all evidence that you tried in the first place

MEDIA RELEASE
SANFL 2007 MATCH PROGRAM ANNOUNCED

The SANFL is pleased to announce the 2007 ‘be active’ League match program. Following consultation with the SANFL Club General Managers, the SANFL has produced a match program that will see matches hosted at a range of suburban grounds and in country South Australia before finishing the year at the home of football in SA, AAMI Stadium.
Round one kicks off on the Easter long weekend under lights at Coopers Stadium. Easter Saturday will see South Adelaide take on 2006 premiers, Woodville-West Torrens, in front of hundreds of Easter holiday makers in Encounter Bay. Later in the season, West Adelaide head to Berri to host Central
District.
The SANFL heads back to Thebarton Oval where the Eagles will host three transferred home matches throughout the season. The ANZAC Day Grand Final rematch will also be hosted at Thebarton Oval, in the absence of Adelaide Oval at this time.
A record 25 games will be played on Sunday afternoons to attract families and Amateur League players to a range of matches across all suburban grounds. Nine night matches feature in the program varying between Coopers Stadium and Hamra Homes Oval. The AFL free weekend will see four blockbuster
matches spread across three days. The June long weekend also features another blockbuster game between Glenelg and North Adelaide at the newly named Challenge Recruitment Oval (formerly Glenelg Oval). Come finals time, the SANFL heads back to Adelaide Oval for three weeks of finals action before
finishing the year with the ‘be active’ League Grand Final at AAMI Stadium.
SANFL Executive Commissioner, Leigh Whicker said “The 2007 SANFL match program has given the League the flexibility to take League football to a new level in reaching our country spectators.
Following a positive response and huge supporter base in the Great Southern Leagues this year, the SANFL will head back to Encounter Bay in 2007. In addition, another match will be played in country SA when we head to Berri later in the season. Next year also sees a record number of Sunday matches
being played to allow people who are involved in school and Club sports to get along to a League match on Sunday afternoon. The fixture generally gives us a great scope in games being played across the weekend, from Friday night through to Sunday afternoons and feature matches on long weekends”.
