port pirie friday dec 1 2006

port pirie,

it is a be careful night as a lot of horses first up, but here it is (i'll do my best)

r1 top three 1 (fitness ?),4,5 with next best 7,8
r2 very open it is almost a field job 1,2,3,4,7,8 with a rough hope to 6
r3 another open event 2,3,5,7 with next best 4,6,8
r4 chances 2,4,6,9,10 (10 first up from nz but it did trial ok)
r5 only two winning chances 6,7 they will run the quinella i have a leaning to 6 (rated 4/7) the 7 (rated 6/4) for third 1,4,5
r6 chances 3 (who is a trotter),5,6 with a place hope to 8
r7 chances 6,7,8 with a place hope to 2, obviously watch market for the 1 would not have to be very smart to win while 8 has great nsw form but hasn't raced for 2&1/2 years (that'll keep mal happy)

suggested bet(s)
r5 no 6 win
be careful with the amount of first up horses tonight

dutchy's & ag's betfair lays
i cant really find a short one that cant win so i'll suggest anything that is first up thats in the market maybe worth laying or wait until saturday

good luck on the punt
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

I won't bet tonight because

Postby SCD » Thu Nov 30, 2006 11:40 pm

I'm watching the Castle on Channel 9 after a day watching the cricket.. and as Bayman states, hard night

Race 1 - On top I have 1,7,8 with next best 2,4 and then 5
Race 2 - 1 should lead and win for a place take 2,4,7,8 and don't worry about 6 after the trainer (K Proctor) takes it to Pirie Friday for a fitness run it's backing up Sunday at Victor Harbour
Race 3 - a good thing here - 7 will win (fresh of a good Sat night win) for a place 2,3,5,8 for a place
Race 4 - 2,9,10 on top with place hopes to 1,6,7,8
Race 5 - bayman is spot on 6 and 7 run the quinella (I think 6 to win also as it will go forward) and for a place I like 3 to run last
Race 6 - What cats!!! don't even bet because none of them deserve to race let alone win.. 1 and 2 the only ones that can't place
Race 7 - I think 1 and 7 the top ones from 6,8 and maybe a place hope to 3 and 4

Suggested Bets
R2 - 1 e/w
R3 - 7 W
R5 - 6+7 Quin

Betfair specials
R4 - 6 (Premier Holmes) - non winner, can place but won't win

Bayman the general feeling is that Spinning Around in the last race will only be going aroung for the run for fitness with bigger things in mind....according to Greg 'the peg' Francis..... s UI will be laying it for plenty...as its form warrants it to be well in the market!!!!
And I heard a whisper R1 #1 isntb at his top... may be placed with agood run but is only 60% fit... so I will be taking it on!!!

If you bet in race 6 your an idiot!!!

Good to see the meeting go ahead at Pirie after the debacle last time....

LATE MAL

Its the silly season, as BAYMAN has pointed out many horses are first up
from a spell at Port Pirie.

R3-7 LIGNUM REDWING in form take in quins/exactas
R4-6 PREMIER HOLMES excellent EW chance.
R6-3 ANGEL FORCE the trotter to beat the pacers ??? trust in quins/exactas
R7-7 LIGNUM TWISTER the rest are ordinary, so will be in the finish WIN

I have to contradict SCD on r 4-6 PREMIER HOLMES.as a Betfair LAY.
The consistent pacer was badly inconvienced last start losing about 100 meters at the start.
It made up enourmous ground to make up about 80 metres on the field.
Tonight it has barrier 6 but I expect it to Be driven quietly and giVen any luck will be there
in the finishing numbers, and may just win as well.

SUMMARY
-----------

Useless

Well Mal tipping a trotter in the race - doesn't say much for them and I must say I like your comment AG - what do you think about mal giving a tip in this race?

It was a bad night all around, I took the quinella and trifecta's with Franco Novella, but don't think he was trying all that hard!!

As for the Trotter Mal  - i got burnt by Leah Harvey early on Lignum Redwing, so never again at Pirie will I bet tipping or betting on Leah Harvey... She is a joke (almost in the B Scaffidi mould)
