Lunch on Good Friday - Where?

Postby Squawk » Mon Mar 29, 2010 8:24 pm

I'm looking to take my wife out for lunch - ideally on Good Friday as it is our wedding anniversary on that particular date. Only problem is - is anywhere open for lunch on Good Friday? I'm looking at something more than a pub lunch or a cafe meal - more in the bistro/restaurant/windery category.

Does anyone know a suitable place that is actually open?

Location would ideally be North Adelaide to McLaren Vale, but preferably the metro area eg Glenelg, Unley, North Adelaide, the city, Norwood, Mitcham, even Hahndorf. Mrs Squawk will be 38 weeks+ pregnant by then so don't want to stray too far!

:?:  :!:

Don't like your chances ... I doubt any place would be open.

What are you planning on having for lunch on Friday then? ;) Fish I suppose :D

There must be somewhere - a 5 star hotel surely, but that's a last resort.

How about you pack a hamper full of gourmet treats, a nice bottle of white wine, an expansive blanket, a portable stereo with a light jazz CD, then drive up to Strathalbyn (for example) and have a romantic picnic by the lake?

And since she is up the stick, you can drink all the wine yourself and get her to drive back home :D

LOL, sort of in the same boat now.

We have a major system implementation over Easter and I'll be co-ordinating things on Good Friday, which means I need to feed the masses working that day.

Not sure how at this stage with the city effectively being closed!

Also, Good Friday is generally an industry wide day for get togethers for people who work in hospitality - mainly because everything else is closed.

It's about the only chance that these guys who work in pubs, bistros, Motels, etc get to spend time together as a group.

So maybe think about "crashing" one of those.
