Good hitout for us yesterday gonna take us a while to gel with blokes still getting to know each other but I was pretty happy. TTG will be around the mark, they were missing a few and looked a bit underdone but they'll get better, a lot of reliance on Uncle however.

Congrats to our B's who beat TTG's D's for the first time in a very long time if not ever. Big Moose in his 300th was awesome.

Looking forward to taking on The Units this week...Central United v MLFC perhaps this game should be played at Hindmarsh Stadium

5/5 for me. Think Athelstone have made an early statement to their competitors in Div 7.

History in the making at Mawson Lakes Hotel Oval on Saturday as the footy club formerly known as St.Pauls Old Scholars ran out onto the field as the Mawson Lakes Football Club. With the new name has come new faces, and any old Saints supporter would have been forgiven for thinking "WTF? Who are these blokes?". Nine debutants for the Saints on Saturday with several recruits also filling in a new look B grade as they took on the promoted Tea Tree Gully.

However it was a regular Saint who made his presence felt early on Saturday as Ivan Novosel put through his clubs first 4 goals on Saturday to give Mawson Lakes a flying start. Mt.Lofty recruit and assistant Coach Rob O'Gorman was having an impact in the middle, while skipper Lachlan Kennett kicked off where he finished last year, racking up numerous possessions. Tea Tree Gully fought back in the first term to square things up at the break, thanks to the efforts of evergreen Peter Uncle who's ferocious attack at the footy won him a lot of the footy. With things all tied up, the Saints clicked into another gear and took the game away from the Bloods in the second term. Mark Chilvers was dominant at CHF, while RAAF recruits Kaleb Tymco and Glen Melslendykes (say that surname when you're drunk!) were proving good signings for Mawson Lakes. Tymco was proving to be a handful for the Gullies at CHB while Melslendykes was using his strong frame to bust through packs. This second term was the defining moment of the match and with a healthy lead built up, Mawson Lakes put the game out of Tea Tree Gullies reach. The last half was a dour affair, with both sides holding sway in defence, but playing styles of footy that wouldn't have frightened too many sides in Division 7. Olympic Dam recruit Tood Martin took a 'Mark of the Year' contender in what was otherwise a lacklustre half of footy. Mawson Lakes coach Geoff Riddle would have been happy with the win, as the Saints have been more often than not on the wrong side of the ledger at the end of Round 1. For the Bloods, Uncle was by far their best and there must be a case for signing him for the next 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' Movie as the lead role. Fellow veteran Damien Kschammer had his moments while Grant Williams booted 3 first half goals.

Im not saying they cant. I was simply saying I heard something. It would ruffle the feathers of other clubs if they knew this was going on..

Some players like their ego stroked and like having other sides chase them, always leaving that door slightly ajar so they can continue stroking lol

Athelstone were a very good unit on saturday in Both grades and if they keep playing like that, and don't lose to many players to there B grade they will be one of the teams to beat up there with ML.

Yeah the Hawks are expecting a tough game this week, should gain a couple of players back this week but theres always the chance we will loose a few to the B grade. Looking forward to a tough, close game after a great win over Angle Vale!

Angle Vale v Flinders Uni - i heard the crabs have left already to get there on time. i'm picking a draw
Glenunga v Adelaide Uni - Glenunga at home, good win over SHOC & should easily account for the blacks
Athelstone v Modbury - Raggies too strong here
TTG v SHOC - should be a close game, TTG due to home ground advantage
Central United v Lakers - Lakers by plenty, if last weeks results are anything to go by it could be a long season for united
