saturday was definitely a reality check for the boys. we dont have that many that have played at that level before. things they could get away with at div 2 or lower, they cant get away with in div 1. we're definitely able to play at this level and will be a lot better from the lesson we've learnt.

The TTG lads didnt give you a bit of "Welcome to Div 1" after the game? ;)

I remember Pooraka doing that to us one year after teaching us a bit of a lesson in round 1. We won the flag that year - they got relegated

Broadview V Goodwood was level at half time, high quality first half apart from the scoreboard being 3-7 a piece. Really tight and hard in close from both teams. After half time Goodwood seem to kick up a gear and left us for dead, Demasi kicked 3 or so, all out the back of the pack and Illman took everything that came his way and appeared to play CHB + CHF all day at one end. Their midfield is looks even stronger too. Broadview let them run away with it after 3/4 time, but i was impressed with some of the young guys that suited up for us. Good to see a number of Goodwood guys in at the bar after too.

Blonde Hair?? If so he was handy off the back flank, reckon he got in the best in the paper.

We did hit the front in the 2nd quarter but TTG had a bit more polish when going forward. Scoreboard suggests it was more one sided than it was. PNU had 2 more scoring shots to half time but TTG at Perteringa is a tough assignment for anyone. I did see someone on this site ask Did we get the welcome to Div 1??? NO. The Gully boys were too good and won with Humility. Loooking forward to having a crack at them again in round 10.Future opponents of TTG also best beware of young Josh Bollymeyer. The kid almost doesnt look interested, some call it laconic i think but can that kid play. Awesome vertical leap and looks to have a big future. Took a mark on the weekend that even as an opponent you just have to applaud. From what i saw TTG will be right in the finals mix again even without Brutus.

That was me, just remembering a similar welcome we got when promoted a few years back. It was the same game that Sammy Mac did his knee at the end of the game.

I've been raving about Josh Bollmeyer for years, it was his marks that featured prominently in the U18's marks segments on the Roots (R.I.P :( )

I thought i read alot of players had walked from there.
Tylors done a great job in regrouping these lads, thats a smashing they dished out to Gepps.
The Gepps Boys will be feeling it on the track this week.
Good to see Districts wern't smashed like predicted by many, Ricky Pearce has lost more players than any club in A1s but has recruited some handy players unknown to their rivals, Ricky did say they will surprise alot of people.
I must say i'm one of them.

I was of the same opinion with thinking districts would struggle with the exodus of players
spoke to someone that plays for them last week and he thought they had a better side then last years?
will be interesting to wait and see!
get on board the thunder train!!!

Should be able to gauge this week when they play Districts a team everyone tipped to struggle this year.
By all reports Districts probably should of won yesterday if they'd kicked straight, Full Forward kicked 1.7 apparently

that's not too bad if the game was played at the districts.
our full forward two years ago kicked 2.13 there
