Nah, if it was Jamie that is at Salisbury High then it was him who Clint was talking about on radio last night, because I do remember him actually saying "I teach at Salisbury High"...

Have edited my original post, as mentioned above, was just getting my young Maggies players on debut mixed up...

either way they will both be very good players for the Gold Coast

Yes i think you are right they will both end up on the GC. Jamie worked quite hard yesterday, if the ball was delivered a bit better he would have got more of the ball.
I was very impressed with Scotts performance, he competed well, and worked very hard around the ground.

Has a formal crowd figure been announced ? I'd hate to hear of any anecdotal accusations of the Magpies fudging figures.....

Was more than 3,000 I reckon, closer to 4,000 I would have thought...

Did have the atmosphere of a crowd stronger than 3000, wasn't far off my guess though...

Either that's a typo or there's been an awful lot of hullabaloo about nothing......

Well, not to dispute but with a glass half empty crowd "estimate" like that, not a single North supporter showed his/ her face.

Poor crowd after all the hype and talk from a lot of Port people. North had a good turn out considering the anti-north tirade from Port people since the merger No vote.

Should we be suprised by the lack of apathy from the majority of the big Port membership which is nearing 7000 but a bulk of that number despite all the carry on were not at their first home game to rally around the embattled magpies. After the mass turn out of 24 or so diehards for their pre-season rally / march it shows that a lot of this big membership doesn't really care or their real allegiance is the AFL Port Adelaide.

Having said all that maybe the masses who didn't turn up had a premonition of the catering that was on offer. I thought Prospect was bad but Alberton takes the cake for the worst in the SANFL re catering and in particular organisation around it. I know the bulk is done by volunteers (as is the case with most clubs) but yesterdays efforts were a shambles. Lucky they didn't get anymore than they did at the game as that would have ensured a disaster re the catering. A little systematic of where the Magpies are at and why they have got themselves into the shit if that is what they serve up when they need to stand up and survive?
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

4600 in my opinion.

The steak sangas were superb, but although the staff are volunteers, at least the young lady serving pies etc could smile and and say thanks. the young guy was a happy chap and thanked customers but he looked as though he had not had a wash for a week.

Pies and a goon don't cut it with us.
Help the Magpies survive a little longer by cutting their catering bill and they still whinge.
I blame the other 8 clubs.

Barrie Robran was certainly at the President's lunch. Often there is only one club representative at the President's lunch, I don't know if anyone else went, but Barrie certainly was there.

Correct, he was there as he was invited to be the Guest Speaker, not representing NAFC.

Cant see why not. It's a pretty average meal and North are a pretty average club. Despite what many of their fans believe. ;)

Actually we have an above average club, if we actually win something it'll be a bonus. ;)

I would describe a pie and a goon as below average but we all have different tastes/standards.
Good on you for having cheap taste Booney!
Wish I did, would save heaps of cash! ;)

Just on the crowd I thought it was no different to the usual crowd we pull there, maybe a few more North suppporters and a few less Port supporters than usual where we were.

In the last 3 years agreed!
If football clubs had middle names ours would be mediocrity.
Ahh well, things could be worse. We could be broke and worse than mediocre.

Now, anyone want to talk about the game or shall we just lock the topic?
