Gee - stripping flags.

That's about as big as it gets.

What do they do to the next club that's caught?

have to pay back $1.1 million prize money + a 1/2 million dollar fine and................

Effectively the club will be playing for nothing but pride this season as the league determined it is not eligible to play for points.

The last part of this statement is real conspiracy stuff.
Why bother turning up this year? For players or spectators?
Nah, this part stinks to high heaven.

The NRL did it to the bulldogs and everyone knew the risks of all this. HAHAHAHAHAHA I am laughing at this because the Storm knew the risks. But what sucks is the other teams win a premiership by default which would leave a bitter taste in the storms mouth

I haven't read the posts for forgive me if someone has already said this but how can words strip two premierships from players minds? Those words being from the NRL saying that we've stripped the premierships. I wonder if you ask those players who trained from early in the year till the final in late Sept or early Oct if those words from the NRL actually mean anything. I doubt Craig Bellamy would consider himself NOT a premiership coach, even if he may be forced to state otherwise in the media.

TAB Sportsbet took $200 @ 201/1 last night along with $1000 @ 52/1 this morning for Melbourne to finish bottom. Who knew last night?

They will honour the bets! They will however not pay up until the season is over.

Heard about this on the way home. WOW

Gotta feel for the supporters of the club, and those clubs that were runners up in the GFs.

sportingbet also took bets on the Spoon

maybe the club knew and thought it would be a good way to help pay the bill or the NRL did and thought they would cash in on both from the Storm and the bookies

There is no point in awarding the premierships to the runners up cause it wont mean a thing to them

That would be like giving a player a premiership medal when they didnt even play

Just wipe their names from the record book and move on.

From what i understand the teams that finished runner up wont be receiving the premierships,at the press conference ceo of news limited was informed 3 days ago of the rort, and obviously other people knew, especially when money is bet on melbourne winning the wooden spoon.Full story of how many people at melbourne storm was involved i dont think will ever come out,but i do congratulate David Gallop, every year their seems to be trouble with rugby but he seems to cope with dealing with problems.Has to be other teams in same situation, not just in rugby league, alot of players being paid by third parties.Watched fox sports and their coverage was great.

Former St Kilda CEO Brian Waldron was supposedly the one behind this at the Storm running a second set of books.
