Just remember we have been there many more times than you have. I think most south supporters would not count any game as a win before the game has finished. We are a loyal bunch but very sceptical because of our experiences following south.

I know mate - all good!

I have to make light of the situation we currently find ourselves in. Otherwise I'd cry!

If it makes you feel better, my Dad still talks about a season (can't for the life of me recall which one) where Port won the flag with only one defeat for the season - against South, who incidentally only won one game for the season. (Can't find the record for this, so it may be tosh, but my old man talks about that season every 5 minutes).

Half tosh; 1956 is the year. Port only lost one game, to South. However, South won 6 matches.

The game in question is:
Round 13 1956
South 5.3 6.3 11.4 13.5 (83)
Port 2.1 4.6 6.9 10.11 (71)
Adelaide, 10000

83 points was the equal most that Port conceded in a match that season. Finishing with 1034 points conceded in the 20 matches that Port played in 1956 represents 51.7 on average.

That's the one - thanks spelly.
My old man was only 7 at the time so I guess I can forgive his memory!

Wouldn't mind it if Port conceded only 51 pts per game between now and September!!

No problem. :) Except that match was in Round 14, not 13.

I may need to change my thoughts.
Krakouer adds that extra pace needed to carry & break the lines.
The weather should help him. i expect him to play a blinder if he shows up ( mentally prepared )

Interesting. Wasn't he named in the 22 for the power and pulled out because of injury (official reason).
Go you Redbacks!

Looks like McKernan might be called up from the Panthers too.

I'm here at Alberton Oval right now and had heard the same whispers here...

Just as I was talking to someone about this very topic down by the main entrance to Alberton Oval, who should walk in straight past us ?

Shaun Mckernan - he is here at Alberton and will line up for the Panthers...

Tough one to tip:
- Clayton and Cloke back for Port
- South impressive last week but game is at Alberton and after a 5 day break

But thanks Big Phil - the presence of Shaun McKernan after his game last week has swayed me to think South might just get over the line for their captain's 150th game.

During one of the breaks today on ABC TV, the boys will be having a chat about the great win last night by Norwood over a terribly inconsistant Doubel Blue outfit...

The boys will actually be having a chat with Norwood's Nick Lower, so Legs fans at home watching this game on TV will no doubt enjoy that.
