Went to Challa Gardens Hotel tonight,2 big screens side by side both on sky channel one, asked bar staff if they could change one of the screens to sky 2,they had no idea what i was talking about and one said she would have to ask the manager later.Obviously another pub who only cares about poker machines.

Sky Channell is a proffessional and entertaining outfit
Great to have them on board for about 2 decades now

However since they have had the 2 channells the standard has dimwitminished

Last week in the Gawler Tab had lunch with a hottie
There were 2 screens up
When 2 races clashed , we had one with sound and the other without

Last race GDP saturday night
SKY1 said to go to SKY2 for the last, so I did ith plenty of notice[had I gone for a crap or a root would have missed the message]
I was twiddling away on Betfair and the markets were suspended
There as a race on SKY2 on an International event
I switched to SKY1 and they had a replay of Hawkesbury race 1 from the daytime
Back to SKY2
2 minutes after the GDP race finished, they show the race on SKY2, after the international race

On a Sunday meeting there was adds on sky1 and sky2
Thats fine as commercials pay the bills
Only prob as they were racing at the Sunshine Coast

I have not checked this out
There have been complaints
With the saturation of 2 many meetings, turnover is dropping on individual races
Pools are dropping for exotics and multis
One if the reasons is people are not sure when they transfer form sky1 to sky2
The other, they dont have time to invest as there are 2 many races

SKY has been a great mob, and this professional lot will improve standards
But its service is at its lowest ebb now

i heard brendan parnell on the radio today & he concurred with mals view that lately their performance has been a bit down & they're trying to iron out the problems, he expected it to be 'great' for all punters whether they be at home, in tabs or pubs, he did mention that in england they have 2 screens with the broadcast of one & said ''it works well over there'' so i'm watching a 20 horse field with no sound & my horse has similar colours to 3 or 4 others....how the fcku would i know which horse was mine ? probably not the winner ;)
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

The new service is F*****G B*******T.

F*****K the international Crap off as F****L ALL people care about and only the desparates punt on it.

Should have 3 channels, 1 each for gallops, trots and dogs.

That's not a bad idea...

I agree, 95% of international races are not worth showing!! And most of the ones that are worth showing are at time when they are able to show them with minimal interruptions anyway!!!

I feel sorry for people on tab radio,to try and keep up and play every race on the radio is impossible when there are so many races clashing, also to give approxs. before each race and give divs. after, at the tab on monday they were giving divs. when races were running. It will be interesting with a big race like the Melbourne Cup as they normally have a gap so everyone can relax and concentrate on the event, but the way things are heading it will clash with a Dapto dogs race.

My friend and I had a frenzy today[and lost]
We chain betted
By mid afternoon, betting allcodes we decided it was too much to keep up with
Just tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many races, in tooooooooooooooooooooooooooo short a time
For anyone betting on mixed codes, it is confusing working out what channell had what
We had to look at the menus all the time to work out if we were in the right channels
I suppose if I write all the meetings on a piece of paper each time I punted like this , I could manage things better

Conclusion
Just gunna bet on one code one state at a time [as I norMALly do]

This for my sanity and prosperity

MAL, just a bit more preparation

find out what meetings each channel is doin in the morning and then proceed to get the scratchings and all other changes for the 48 meetings covered by all TABs

GDP MONDAY WIN ONLY POOLS 3/5/2010

R....UNI......VIC......NSW

1...9517....15408....14339
2...9380....14998....10541
3...14563..24505.....18508
4...14228...21419....18577
5...9658.....7684......6381
6..20435....23890....21542
7..23271....27573....26849
8...9021....14593....10531
9..12609...18509.....16704

Reasons for some pools being much less in Adelaide

Race5 at scheduled time 3-24
Win pools plummet, perhaps parents were picking up thier schoolkids and couldnt get a bet on ?
Gunsmoke was finishing at 3-30 ?

Race8 at scheduled time 5-35
Win pools plummett, office workers have knocked off work at 5:30, leave office, and couldnt get thier bets on ?
Tabradio was giving approximate divs for something [doubles ?] and then stopped, they had jumped at GDP !!!
Gomer Pyle started on Foxtel 114 at 5:30

SKYSCRAPPING
Only noticed yeaterday 5/7/2010 that I no longer have SKY2
GrRrRrrRrRrRrRrRrrRRrrRrRrrrRRrRrRRrRrRrRrRRRRrRrrrrRrRRrRrRRr

Probably will eventually subscribe to SKY2
But will I ?

Ive noticed that some SKY2 covered meetings have had a significant decrease in Pools for exotics and Multis

DOGS
One larger than life SAFOOTY poster has been a regular running doubles[and other multis] punter on the dog meetings for years
He has stated that when Wednesday dog meetings have been put on SKY2 the doubles pools have dropped significantly
He has all but given up betting on these dog meetings
Now its worse, with so many foxtel users in transition mode, the pools are likley to drop away even further

As for me, just gunna see what pans out
At this stage almost all SA trot meetings are on SKY1, so not having SKY2 is no big deal
Wont bother with Wednesday dogs anymore as cant see them

QUESTION
How much is it to subscribe to SKY2 ?

i've got it predominately for any additional harness meetings @ Mt Gambier or Pirie on a Sunday on SKY2...
if i'm betting - I want to be able to watch them
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined
