Adelaide Footy League Talk

Um Virgin was the Div3 Medalist last year and been captain for 2 years.

Ive only heard these players are leaving from other players, just seems to be a mass exodus from the club at one time. Things must be shaky down there. Can any one give us an insite to what the situatio is there.

I think its the same Marshall, there is only one.

Marshall was a class act at Div 3 level last year? The guy just kept finding the footy, no matter what was put in his way. Should play A grade every week for Seaton. Virgin ain't bad either, should probably play A grade for Gepps, they're midfield isn't the strongest at the moment I don't think.

Odegard and DePalma are young blokes who'll play A Grade for 10 years or so, that's gonna hurt Portland in the long run. Expect the Thunder to be playing Div 5 in 2007.

And Magpiespower, he was at training last week, so I'm assuming he'll play again next year.

Saw quite a bit of Paul Marshall in the short period he was at SMOSH and was a big fan of the way he plays, plenty of talent and always used to see his name in the best for Portland in the Sundy mail, would imagine as previous posters have suggested, his loss will be significant at Portland!

I also read this somewhere Pag. Probably from the same source as well. Either this information was inaccurate or Salisbury West have done the dirty on Bill in favour of Francis.

almost rooted

Postby grassroots31 » Wed Jan 11, 2006 1:15 pm

A few thoughts from roots central

Would be disappointed if Fabian has been given the job if Billy was elected first...After the farce that was the grand final I think the league would have been ecstatic with a well respected Northern Suburbs coach having the gig..Salisbury West don't need any more headlines..just a quiet year staying off the radar

Koster got the job at SHOC cause he was to high profile to just be the cleaner...interesting to note last years coach is the president for next year..Why?

Goodwood Saints are very quiet re their coach for next year..have heard its Trent mills anyone confirm

A rumour that Mark Moody is coaching a college side last year coached by a former league footballer

Scott Direen is training at PNU and Troy Clements at the raggies

A high profile Div 1 club has allegedly lost two of its playing assistants coaches

Good to see Rocky Butterworth back at the dolphins..Mark Bayliss can continue with his Rocky and the dolphins mantra

Heard a couple of stories coming from down Towns way one confirmed one not. Unconfirmed is that Kym Cobb has taken up a coaching position somewhere else. The confirmed one was 6 guys from Townies were training pre Christmas at Seaton Ramblers. Interesting change of clubs if they stay there.

I have heard from the 29 or so players that played a grade at portland last year only 4 turned up to pre christmas training and about 20 or so are training at different clubs. Dont know of the players staying but they are sons of commitee members.
