One-off game at Hindmarsh on Wednesday May 12 either against Kashima Antlers (Japan) or Jeonbeouk Motors (Korea)

The quarters and semi's are over two legs

Sounds like a car yard :D

Apologies for the spelling, it's actually Jeonbuk and they play Kashima tomorrow night in Kashima. Jeonbuk need to win to finish top of the group

Well that was the most pathetic, insipid, laughable, embarrassing and unsportsmanlike displays in a professional sporting stadium I will probably ever see in my life. I reckon Shandong had more than 6 stretchers come out onto the pitch, (none needed), more than a dozen times their players rolled around for no real reason, 2 just layed down on the pitch and didn't move at all apart from raising a head to see if the ref had stopped play, one of these 2 layed there with his head in the grass for a minute. Shameful and pathetic, absolutely gutlessly pathetic.

Saw them here a couple of years ago and sounds like they haven't changed.

Their goalkeeper took a dive when I think it was Travis Dodd just walked past him (no contact made), of course the ref did nothing.

Not seeing the game tonight, I am assuming the ref did nothing about it tonight again.

Doesn't matter though as Hiroshima did the right thing by us though.

Spot on Bloods. The ref was actually pretty good but he needed to pull or threaten to pull a yellow for time wasting or diving just to keep them honest. It was very very disappointing.

I couldn't make the game last night as had other commitments, so had to record the game (thank god for Foxtel IQ) and during the call comments were made about some of the behaviour of the Shangong players. It's not the first time a Chinese team has done that sort of thing in ACL games. It happened a few seasons back when Sydney FC were involved and the team they played that night turned the game into a farce.

I went last night with smac jr, as little miss smac was playing soccer as part of half time entertainment. First time I have ever been to a senior game of soccer and quite possibly the last. That was a terrible display. The only redeeming feature was that Adelaide didn't participate in the shenanigans, with the keeper even trying to pick up one of their players who was playing lame in front of him while the ball was up the other end.

Strange game that one, very strange indeed. :D

Only saw the last 20 minutes of the first half, but I thought the Ref was awful ... Missed what I reckon was a penalty to Leckie and then pinged Van Dyk as he was breaking for goal, but then continually awarded fouls for the slightest of touches.

The linesman got a couple wrong too.

Oh well, the Reds run continues and they should put up a good fight in their knockout clash.

BTW speaking of Leckie, such a stupid Yellow he earnt for himself, just needless stuff and really let his teammates down.

AU's opponent has been confirmed - Jeonbuk, who went down 2-1 to Kashima Antlers tonight.

Booked my tickets this morning.

It seems a little weird that the rounds are all home and away, the 1/4 finals and 1/2 final games are home and away, but the round of 16 is one leg only... I guess there must be some reason for that which escapes me...
