Holosync Meditation

Postby fisho mcspaz » Sun May 16, 2010 9:35 pm

I was online and got this popup advertising a free Holosync meditation demo CD. I've always been a bit curious about meditation and it was a free CD so I thought, what the hell, and gave them my address. Anyway, so I now have this CD. It came with a booklet detailing the many benefits of Holosync and to be frank, it all sounds like a crock of s**t, but I imagine it probably does have some relaxing effect. Well, then I went on Facebook to see what other people have said about Holosync, and I came across this group... and it sounds like a cult! Everyone seems really brainwashed. See, once you get the free CD, that's only the beginning... to REALLY unlock your inner whatsits, you need to buy the full program for $600 or something. Then you can spend even MORE money on purification levels (??) and specially tailored programs that focus on creativity, or mental health, etc. But everyone in this Facebook group was going on about how Holosync had changed their life and how they'd unlocked a whole new self when they ascended to Purification Level Six. Some of them were saying about how they'd moved on to a new CD too early and they'd had uncontrollable endorphin rushes and panic attacks. And even more people were saying that they'd had withdrawal symptoms and depression when they stopped using Holosync.

I got this bloody CD just to see what meditation is all about, and maybe feel a bit more relaxed. Now I'm wondering if it is actually a hypnosis CD that will brainwash me into thinking that my life will not be complete unless I order the whole program. :? Has anyone else ever used Holosync meditation before? If so, what was your experience?

Holysh*t.....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Haha, there's some American bloke called Bill Harris - I suppose he's the Holosync equivalent of Tom Cruise. :)

I think I will have to turn my back on this 'Amazing Chance to Meditate Deeply (No, Even More Deeply) than a Zen Buddhist Monk!!!' (that is what it says in the booklet that accompanied the CD) Yoga sounds like a goer - I'll have a look around for a class in my area.

Local = better than internet for this.

Only problem with the whole meditation thing is there's plenty of flaky types around, with all sorts of spiritual hoo-hah out there. Like most other things, it's a matter of findng a person that you get along with to be able to get into it without getting the shits...can be a pretty handy thing to be able to calm the mind, especially for a new mum!

No worries, we're going to be moving in a few weeks (not because of the CD  ) so the meditation weirdos won't be able to send me any more stuff. :D
