The umpiring went to new lows today. I have never seen a ruckman penalised for jumping too high!

1st Quarter, centre wing in front on the interchange, Webb runs on from the bench, jumps and hangs in the air over O'Hara, and wins the taps, yet North awared a free for too high (was all leap, no hands). Whats the game coming to?

North were more determined and seemed to be playing for each other. Again, West outskilled in a match that they were certainly in with a chance. We need to claim another big scalp, with Sturt a 4 point game this week so to speak.

You forgot to mention both eyes on the ball as well. Ridiculous decision.

And what about that push in the back against Nick Gill in the 2nd qtr, which resulted in a goal to West. Disgraceful.

Yeah agree. Looks like no-one can have an opinion without being jumped upon.

And before anyone starts I'm guilty as well.

Apologies guys.

Far out, I would have thought either side of 3000 at least for these teams .. Both are well supported with plenty to play for

I'm not sure you would say we're well supported.

We usually have about 400-500 travelling band of supporters and thats about it.

Very disappointed with the North contingent though. Usually the grandstands are almost full and the terracing in front of the grandstands is usually chocas. Had plenty of room to move today.

Thats what you get though when your team isn't playing well though as we all know.

LOL. Normally draw a crowd of 1500-1900.

Sorry mate, I guess I had your home ground attendances in mind which are more than healthy, I guess that does't always translate to the travelling contingent, still I would have expected a few more than the reported figure.

I estimated there was 50-100 West supporters there today. Lot of "Twilight" supporters.

Obviously missed my bit about Jimmy Allan (who I must add is the best player in the comp).

North were good today but will struggle to challenge the likes of Central, Glenelg and the Eagles over the course of the season (just like us)

Ok ill bite.

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Please place in best jokes thread.

Obviously haven't seen a few lads running around in a red, white and blue jumper.

Your post has topped off another brilliant day of football for me, thankyou.

 You really are a tool. I said he is the best player in the competition. Centrals have the best bunch of players in the competition.

Allan the best player in the comp hahahahahahaha. You havent seen players like Callinan and Clayton play then.

Blimmy Mates .... this thread is like lis’enin’ to a bunch of winging “too-an’-froms” .... ala poms.

Every winning side is made to look better by the looser!

I still enjoyed the day out. It was not easy getting a kick with some of the tackling ferocious. All the players at least tried.

As for the umpiring, one suspects they are taught that they are “the game” and at times (many) think they are there to choreograph the events. I am sure they believe the game is about the umpire. If they want to choreograph something, stick to the cheer-leaders.

The attendance, well it was on TV and the Norms enjoy that. Each week I see this old guy who totters along, seen better days and is always alone, but a friendlier block with no malice you would not find. He’s there because he enjoys the day out with people and gets a thrill to hear the crowd cheer a great mark and sigh a missed free.

Someone earlier complained at the 50 frees (one every 2 minutes I think), but there were as many “Ooooohs” when one was missed.

It was a good day to be out to watch my team play. By the way, most of the better marks were taken by Westies lads, the one over Ivens especially, glad I was there to see it and hear the crowd respond.
