Crows In State Jumper - Which is worse?
My thought - a lot of anger at the Crows but what was the SANFL thinking?

Definitely the SANFL's fault for letting both the Crows and the Power manipulate the SANFL and its history.
Both teams are cynical and money driven spawn of the evil empire (the "AFL").

You've got to wonder what the hell these idiots are thinking?
Or maybe they're just so far up themselves they know they can rely on the sheep they have following them being there for their lifetime?

Quite Smart really ... all that publicity and it didn't cost them a cent.

Disagree, I know many people who have jumped off their wagon between their reserves turnabout and now this.
But as I said, they're probably so arrogant and have such a large slice of pie of sheep they'd rather just compete with Port instead of the big wigs.

Why not sack both of them, they both have a 'Untouchables' attitude.

On radio 891 this morning Olsen was interviewed. It appears the decision was made at a lower administrative level in the SANFL and then retracted by more senior people when the protests brought it to their attention. The Crows claim the idea was "encouraged" by the SANFL. The SANFL says the Crows request was simply approved, not "encouraged", by the person who handled the request. (Sloppy management by SANFL either way.)

I blame the VFL for starting the whole thing back around 1990, then the SANFL for buckling under.
The Crows, and the Power, are results/victims of that schemozzle and to some extent can't help following the example set by those parents.

Re: Crows In State Jumper - Which is worse?
How can a major decision like this one be handled by lower administration......could the SANFL stop feeding us bullshit?
Both blokes cant be trusted anymore.....or less for that matter.
I heard last night that the AFL said the choice of jumper by the crows had nothing to do with them....WTF?
More bullshit!
All these blokes handball better than Gary Mc Intosh.

Hardly; "Smart" isn't the word I would use. Came across as a smug, self aggrandising knob.

So Olsen is saying that Whicker is at a "lower administration level" and his "delight" does not indicate any encouragement?
Leigh Whicker when the deal was announced wrote:“The SANFL is delighted that the Adelaide Football Club will honour its heritage in round two of the AFL Premiership Season,”
Interesting that all references to that quote are now deleted...(I had to use google cache to find it)
John Olsen, June 2012 wrote:"Reserves teams in the SANFL for the two AFL clubs is not negotiable.
We will not compromise the SANFL competition (with AFL reserves teams)."

A longer version of the Whicker quote:
Channel 7 suggested that if he wasn't retiring in June he could be sacked over this!
“The SANFL is delighted that the Adelaide Football Club will honour its heritage in round two of the AFL Premiership Season,” Whicker said. “The guernsey reflects the many hard working and passionate people, as well as all the SANFL clubs, that have built the Crows into such a significant part of the South Australian football landscape.
