Re: AFL Round 7

Always entertaining contests between WC and Port.
Stats say port is one of the best defensive teams this season, in saying that you wouldn't expect Brisbane,Carlton,Fremantle forwards to worry you all that much. The games Port have lost, Walker 4 goals, Patton 6 and against the Swans Franklin kicked 4, but Port still won well. WC don't lose to many games if Kennedy kicks 4+ goals, so huge match up for whoever gets him.
If Port use the ball by Bombing long to Dixon, McGovern and Barrass will have a field day, teams that have torched WC this season have used small forwards and kept the ball low, taking both of WC marking backmen out of the game(Richmond,Hawks and St Kilda to a point)
Both teams very good in close, Boak,Wines/Ebert v Priddis,Mitchell, Sheed but it's the showdown between Shuey/ Gaff vs Gray/Polec that will determine the match. Ryder should have Giles covered, but Giles has shown he is no pushover.
Should know pretty early if WC have come to play, if Port can hold them up and make them go down the line, they should be easy pickings for Port. If WC move the ball like they have before at Adelaide oval, Kennedy will become and issue and can win the match of his own boot.

Maybe after years of losing winnable away games
They've certainly been found to have a soft underbelly when pressure is applied. Let's see if they can work out a way through it. Something tells me they won't this year with this midfield.

How many years do you want?

Re: Things that make you laugh

A guy pumping up his tyres at a local BP. Drove in at a weird angle. Checked his front tyres.
Then reversed out and reversed back in to do the rear tyres......seriously the hose is long enough to get around your car dickhead....
Filling up.at the servo this morning. The bloke at the pump next to me finished pumping. He got into his car and drove forwards into a parking space - all of ten metres - then got out and went inside to pay.

WTF?

Seriously, WT effing F?
No thats good....especially if he was going to order coffee

My Friday Forecast :

- Temps to remain in the high 20's and low 30's
- The shower of rain currently passing through to lift the humidity

- Attendance 1 x relaxed Pirate

Now to Adelaide Oval :

- Talia to keep Buddy very quiet and this may make him cross the line....mrp to have a close look
- Laird to repel many a Swan's foray to be the best performed Crow
- Kennedy to rack up 35+ in a bog performance
- First to 60 points wins
- Sydney to find a chink in the Crows' armour
- Attendance 46,898

The Hawks, Clarkson especially, talks about planning for the future, sometimes 4 or 5 years in advance. I wonder if Ratten is biding his time there?

Me, I'd sit on my hands at Hawthorn for a couple of year as opposed to be on a hiding to nothing on the Goldy.

Re: The Ashes 2017/2018

Why didn't we bowl tonight?
To manage the workloads of the quicks.
We are 260 up, another 100 and we are safe.
They will have to bat in this tomorrow night

A load of absolute wank in this weather I reckon, we bowled 76 overs, 24 by the spinner in cool weather.
Or the batters could do what they are paid to and knuckle down like Marsh did on the first night. No wonder we go to water on pitches that offer a bit. Time to show some balls and tough it out

Bats go to water because they play on such flat decks that it has destroyed the low to mid 130km swing bowler. They face 140km bowling machines now. Which you have to be, to be able to bowl bouncer after bouncer on roads.
