Re: TDK's International Test Cricket Update's

This Indian team should be swabbed.
Granted England bowled well, but poking away outside off with the ball swinging large is crazy.
Then Ishant opens the bowling and bowls short and wipe tripe with the new ball.
The POM's certainly had some luck playing and missing the good balls.

Re: AFL Preliminary Finals

Is it more important to play finals every year or to win a premiership every 8 years? Premiership

Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk

Not sure your club agrees I don't like bottoming out to win one.
However recent young additions, haven't really met the standards.

But questions now have to come for Chris Scott, the game plan fails in finals. He may have be a premiership coach, but that team was still playing as it had done the previous 12yrs

Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk
Strange he didn't try to exploit May's dodgey string by having Dangerfield as the deepest forward and make May accountable.
But I guess you have to get it deep in attack to make that work and Melbourne's pressure up the ground didn't allow it.
Could be a very long couple of years rebuilding for the cats.

Guifreda retiring
Poole playing country footy with Von Bertouch and Nathan Batley (W A) next year.
Redden to go on for another year (opposition supporters can bag his weight all they like but he's been a major part in 3 premierships)
Great to see McNeil, Jones, Wehr, Rowe, 2020 premiership players along with Jack Lukosius and Izaak Rankine at the after party.

Shocking shot by Carey….for mine he looks so far out of his depth batting at test level.

Has struggled to get off the mark in any of his innings, is having to resort to reverse sweeps early on to find some gaps and keeps getting out to shocking shot selection
He made a 50 in his third innings in test cricket, give him a break.
Tough pitch to bat on.
He'll still ton up at some stage.

Re: Australian International Summer (The Ashes) 2021/22

assuming hazlewood comes back in, do they rest starc and keep barossa in the 11?

Easy for us to say cause it’s not our money or careers but yeah give Starc a break and play Cummins, Hazelwood, Boland and Lyon

The rest of the side stays the same, out of all the non automatic selections such as Harris, Green, Head and Carey the one I would persist with the longest even if their form slumps is Green. He will eventually gain confidence with the bat and there is so much upside with his bowling.

Head is in decent touch just needs to capatailise to cement his spot for the next year or so
Harris has earnt the rest of the series
Carey needs to do more with the bat and is a tad overrated with the gloves IMO. Holds his spot until another keeper smashes down the door with runs.
You really don't like Alex Carey do you.
Only just beginning his career at test level and you're bagging him continually?

Re: Australian International Summer (The Ashes) 2021/22

Yep Greens form with the bat is a real worry but dont think his going anywhere whilst bowling so well.

Ian Chappell would have Green out of the team for the tests in the subcontinent. According to Chappell, and he knows a lot more about cricket than most of us, Green would not even get a bowl in the upcoming tests coming up, so there is no place for him because you could then play both Head and Khawaja in the middle order.
The only concern I would have there is that if you were to play two spinners, you would need Green as the first change pace bowler.

Whilst Cummins and Starc are making runs, so would I. Starc is the no1 allrounder in the world, so why would we have Green in the side as the allrounder in that case?

Don't get me wrong, I pegged Green to have a breakout series but it just hasn't happened. He's looked menacing when bowling (remembering it's against England though!) but will that occur on turning dusty pitches on the subcontinent?

Its that fifth bowling option which makes Green so valuable. You cant really measure it but i think Cummins, Starc and Hazelwood would love getting that extra half an hour break to be able come back from each spell fresher.
That's a dumb comment from Chappell. I'm starting to put him and Warne in the same basket.
Indian wickets have changed for the better now that venues are rated. More green grass generally.
You need a tall bangerinerer in India to exploit any variable bounce.
I think Green will come good with the bat. And he's a brilliant fielder!

Re: Australian International Summer (The Ashes) 2021/22

Poor Habeeb, one run short from raising his bat.

Poor bloke looks that far out of his depth. Never should have played this series but we rushed him back after one decent county season due to lack of options. Crawley for all his flaws should have always played ahead of either burns or hameed all series for his ability to play the bouncing ball.
With all the tape on his fingers, I'm surprised he can hold a bat.

Unpopular opinion, but I cannot stand Nathan Lyon. Sure his wickets stand up, but think he is a very overrated bowler, and acts like a tool when he shouldn't be.
Was he nicknamed the GOAT for greatest (off spinner) of all time or was it an evolution from Nice Gary (after Gary Lyon) to Gary the Goat (after the instagram goat of the same name)
I remember posting a few years back that referring to someone as the Goat (greatest of all time style) was getting overused

Re: Abbott/Liberal Govt Watch

That's what you and I say,.but these politicians have no feel for the room. Dutton is just crazy enough to nuke this all and ride the party into the mountain
Many out there think he might straighten us up. (Not necessarily my view ;) , I read this forum with great interest but choose to stay out, I ain’t getting into in here)
I’ll make one comment however, I really miss our Statesmen. Leaders we revered, we had faith & hope in. That had a vision. I loved Keating, loved him to death as our leader. And as I matured,I appreciated so much, what Howard did (though not at the time). I’m a unionist but despise so many Labour values. I agree on so many Liberal Party policies, but they screw the worker.
One thing I am sure of though is we have the worst Prime Minister in living history.

Keating was the prototype for the modern professional politician, all mouth no action. Scotty is Keating Mk 2 IMO. I agree on your assessment of Morrison, I put Scotty up there as one of our worst PMs along with Keating, Kevvy 07 and McMahon.

Like you I miss the statesman politicians those who could sell a philosophy the Accord the GST like Hawke and Howard and lead the nation..

Re: Pakistan/Australia series

You mean in two tests on concrete tracks?

Can't blame the pitch yesterday, it was a typical 5th day Asian track, plenty of variable bounce, and recent test matches there confirm its a results pitch.

We bowled shit ( Swepson  ) and Paki's batted brilliantly, I dont care what you bat on, batting for 2 days after being bowled out in 53 overs is sensational.

Fair suck of the sauce bottle, Head and Lubuswanker dropped Babar in consecutive deliveries where Swepson had him beat.
Just going to post that myself.
Bad catching is bad cricket.
Either one of those catches stick then its a different result.
Yeah he bowled some shit but I thought he did OK.

Re: Port Adelaide 2022

Carlton, watch this space.

He's been played as an inside mid, last week attended 17 centre bounces for 0 clearances, that's not his game but he has developed his game in the last 18 months and he should at 26 with over 100 games be able to adapt to some time on the inside of the mid mix. He's not a flanker coming in, he's just moved from outside mid to inside and needs to be better. He's had a poor start to 2022, but pretty hard to say any Port player has been good so far this year.

Those 7 tackles per game LM, 0 of them stick.
I can't fathom why you would change his role?

Those conditions seem to suit us.

Harry Mckay looked good will be a handful, kept the Blue baggers in the game.

Great game by the Tiges last night got the points.

Our best win for the year.

Didn't like Bolton's show boating last night. He did it against Port and kicked 0-5.

Lazy kick from 25 metres out could have really stuck the dagger into the Blues heart if he had kicked it.

Last one was pure arrogance. Dimma did the right thing in the last quarter put him in the middle and made him work and he played a lot better and harder and fought for the ball.

Was not a good look and not what Richmond stands for. Well said by the Nankervis. Impresses me more each week as captain along with Dylan Grimes. They have so many good leaders on the field. Kane Lambert makes a big difference when out there is such a good link man and Jack Graham is a tackling machine. The conditions suited him perfectly last night.

Always good to beat the Blue Baggers!!!!!

Dusty is back next week Bring on the Pussy Cats!!!!!!!!!!
