Times change, what Jaensch allegedly did was rumored to be far worse than what SPP has been accused of but the AFL probably didn't have a department there just to deal with such matters nor a policy to do so.
The Crows took matters into their own hands before an investigation was undertaken i believe. Jaensch "retired" aka got sacked for that and ongoing issues.
The AFL must have some kind of evidence that suggest SPP did something inappropriate other than being drunk in a public place.
That or they are making an example of him. Remembering there are different people in charge now than when Martin etc had there indiscretions.
Kochie should have just said how disappointed they were etc etc and then taken it up with the AFL behind closed doors.
